Popping in to say, "Hi!" I'm just back so I haven't read back yet. WI tomorrow, which should be interesting to say the least! Pasta featured regularly (yay, good), pizza once (boo) and tasty bread (oops!) and ice cream (oh dear) ......
Oh, and I'm having lunch with a friend tomorrow. Oh well. But I am keen to get back on track and quickly.
    See you all tomorrow.

I had a sickness bug in early June - didn't eat for 3 days, gained 5-5.5lb and unable to shift this since.

Been following the plan - 80% of the time, not bothered to going to the meetings.

Why does everyone else lose weight?

Why am I not able to get rid of this weight?

Whilst I'm on the thread, just to warn you if you have Lidl canned stewed steak, they have changed the recipe. Was free, now 14.5 syns. If the cans have no red on the traffic light thing on the front, they are the free ones.

I don't do tinned meat - only fish.

    Morning all

Gorgeous day here, the temperature is in the 20s already.

Reporting in with a loss of 1lb this week.

Greentiger - welcome back, sounds like you had a lovely time.

Hi Scarlet, thanks for the info on Lidl stewed steak. It makes you wonder what they could do to make it so high in syns. I think we all compare ourselves with others and think losing weight is harder for us but everyone has their own struggles. Have you read post #4, there's some useful advise for people who are struggling, it may help you make some changes that would restart your weightloss. And don't forget how far you've come, you've lost more than 2.5 stone, which is an achievement to be proud of.

Mary - I know where you're coming from with the medics poking and prodding and making things worse. I injured my shoulder a few years ago and was having physio - one day I was following the physio's instructions and the pain was so bad I thought I was going to faint. Hope your ankle gets better soon.

Maman - hope you start to feel better soon too.

Good luck to everyone for this week's weigh ins.

  • Sad news for my SW group - our consultant runs two groups (all very busy on FB and a lot of them socialise together...) a girl in the other class from mine had her 2 year old little boy run across a road to get a ball and was hit by a car and killed last night...so, so sad :(

:T on your loss lois. Hopefully you'll be so busy with the lovely weather that you won't even be thinking about food.

    ETA: and abbafan!

Best advice I've heard is to go back to your books, read them thoroughly and start afresh scarlett. I'd suggest a good meal plan (with masses of Speed;)) and writing down everything that passes your lips. If you want us to check menus then just shout. I think posting on here helps too. It makes me feel accountable despite the lack of criticism (unless requested;)).

Good to have you back greentiger. Hopefully any gain will soon go once you get back on plan.:)

I made a big pan of lentil soup yesterday and portioned up this morning for the freezer. Same with a gammon joint sliced for today and more for freezer. It's not really soup weather but I really enjoy it made from the gammon stock.

    Today's plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB porage with HEA milk
    L: lentil soup and raspberries
D: gammon, new potatoes, carrots, runner beans
Syns: squirt of syrup, may have some spread or mustard with dinner

Wow Abbafan1972 that's brilliant, well done!!

Just saw your post gingerfurball, that's so sad. I cannot think of anything worse than losing a child, that poor woman. Just hearbreaking. It certainly does put everything in perspective.

I popped in to say I'm not hiding due to a bad week! I weighed in last Monday and because my new class is on a Saturday (and SW weeks run Sunday to Sunday) there are almost two weeks between my weigh-ins! Will update on Saturday after class.

I'm trying really hard after a naughty couple of weeks off plan.

    My food today:
Breakfast: banana, tea with milk (half of my HEA) and sugar (1 syn)
Lunch: baked potato with grated cheese (other half of HEA), ham and coleslaw (3.5 syns)
Dinner: Veggie stir fry and rice
Snacks: 2 x plums, carrot & cucumber sticks
Drinks: 6x water and 2x diet coke
