WI today a STS Do I feel like a fraud or what after last weeks SOTW?!
Funny that we were chatting last week about losses taking a while to catch up, typically I've got it the wrong way round :rotfl: cos I thought I'd been positively angelic this week.
Never mind - worse things happen at sea.
Well done to everybody this week - you all look like you're doing fantastically well but, but 9.5lbs, that is stupendous!:T0 -
Hi all,
That is really awful for the consultant to shame people who have a gain!
My group is on a Saturday morning and I love going, everyone is so friendly. I do the weighing sometimes, or cover the shop if the girl isn't there. Or I will go round and sell the raffle tickets occasionally. I enjoy doing all of those things as it gets you talking to people.
The consultant does like to chat to me when going round the room, as I've lost the most in our group, I joined when it first started in August. It obviously looks good for her and gives a good impression to new members.
As many of you post your meals here, I thought I would post mine today to see what you all thought. I don't cook meals from scratch that often as I hate it, as well as not having the time.
Breakfast:- Overnight oats (35g Quaker oats HEB, half tub of Yeo valley vanilla yoghurt 3 syns, blueberries & raspberries).
Lunch:- Salad:- Lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, chilli chicken 2.5 syns,70% less fat salad cream 1 syn, muller light orange & chocolate.
Tea:- McCain jacket potato 1 syn, butter bud sachet 0.5 syn, omelette with mushrooms, tomatoes & turkey rasher, baked beans, 2 x L.McCartney Red onion & rosemary sausages (yum!).
Snacks:- Apple, banana, satsuma, grapes, strawberries (i have fruit pots). Hi-fi bar rocky road 3 syns.
HEA Skimmed milk in tea. (I really struggle with this if I don't have milk on cereal).
Total syns - 11Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670 -
It's swnic, i'll give you a follow back. I just love looking at pics of food!I've just signed up for Instagram, my username is SW_Lois_Lane if anyone wants to add me. I'm still finding my way with it so be patient with me.
Welcome to Newshadow - I know the problems you face with food around constantly, I run a caravan site shop selling sweets, cakes, pasties, ice creams, bacon rolls, fish and chips... if I wasn't determined to lose weight I'd be 25 stone by now, it is possible to resist temptation, my strategy is to always keep my goal in mind and when temptation strikes I ask myself which is more important, the treat, or a good result at weigh in.
found you too I think
They've shut down the shop on our caravan site. It opened the year we got it, then didn't open at all last year and this year they've cleared it all outpain if the weather's pants and you need milk/bread/etc!
Been really conscious this weekend at the caravan but over my 15 syns for a few days and light on speed but straight back on it.
need to be up early to sort my food for tomorrow too but shouldn't be a problem.
we have started a dummy free life with the toddler. we are on night 3...we'll work on getting her back in a real bedtime routine once shes happier without it!************************************

Checked in my old book and reduced fat hummus is 28g for (old) Speed HEB or 57g for an ordinary HEB. I've never really understood why there are two values but I remember it was the same with some Ryvitas. I suppose the obvious answer is you're more likely to lose if you eat less!0

I'm not really surprised - we wouldn't be able to do it if we didn't have other income and a second home in Spain. What annoys me is the number of people who stay on site but never set foot in the shop, its like they assume everything we sell is really expensive and we're not. There'll come a time when this shop will close for the last time, then they'll be up in arms that the site doesn't have one.
Apologies for going off topic. (And for the rant!)

Only a few days into the new challenge and I'm already about 8 pages behind - argh! I had an off plan weekend again (well, four days really) - meals were OK, but way too much chocolate. I gained 3lbs over the weekend so need to lose a pound a day if I'm to see a loss on Friday hahahahaha.
I thought I'd gone a bit overboard yesterday eating things I wasn't sure of the Syn values for, but I seem to have got away with it and squeaked in at 15 Syns.
Plan for today is early lunch of bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes and spaghetti loops, then probably a mug shot for a snack before run club, then yesterday's leftover speedy meatball sauce with pasta (found a bit of 'tube' in one of the meatballs last night so will fish those out of the sauce first)
Abbafan I love your colour coded menu plan and am totally going to copy it (if I can be bothered)

Morning all
Beautiful here, the sun is out and the temperature is definitely going up.DH has gone off to play golf so I'm in the shop on my own, there's hardly anyone on the site so it's going to be a quiet morning.
After making the Dutch meatballs recipe from the magazine, it reminded me of a recipe I used to do quite often for curried meatballs, so I searched for a recipe and found quite a few that are SW friendly - we'll be having that later for dinner with some cauliflower rice that I'm trying for the first time.
Abbafan - love your colourful post, it looks a bit like my food diary as I use highlighter pens for HEA/Bs, speed food and syns so every page has pink, yellow and green bits - the aim is to have lots of yellow as that's speed.jockosjungle wrote: »Good start, just back from weigh in
9.5lbs off please!
Didn't even need to take my jacket or shoes off either!
Wow, well done!
There was a woman at my class yesterday who lost the same amount on her 2nd week, that's amazing. You could have your stone award next week specially if you take your jacket and shoes off! :rotfl:I struggle with my HexB if I don't have porridge. Think I'm going to have to go and buy some ryvita so I've got something in the house. Which reminds me I need to go and eat some nuts tonight...
What sort of breakfasts and lunches do you have?
I struggle to stick to only one HEB and have to plan breakfasts that don't include cereals if I want bread at lunchtime, and vice versa. DH likes to have cheese and crackers in the evening and we always have Ryvita and Laughing Cow triangles in, but I rarely have an HEB left to use so I have to syn the Ryvita. A couple of cheese triangles are ok as I never use the full quota of milk for my HEA.
NewShadow - having rice cakes and using foods that are no longer classed as an HEB is fine as long as you continue to lose weight. If you find your weight losses aren't as good as you'd like, those are the things you'll need to change.
Right, better get on with some work... lol.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, it's a beautiful morning again and temperatures are rising. Taking the opportunity to get some washing done and onto the line.
It'll be an EE day today:
B - boiled eggs; 1 slice crustless WM
L - ham salad sandwich
D - keema curry & rice - doing a proper curry from a Madhur Jaffray book rather than one of the SW recipes which tend to be too wet and have virtually no flavour.
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - butter 2; not sure what else yet.

A rather miraculous -2LBS for me this morning.
A long time since I had a loss like that. Feeling very perky. The sun is shining, it's very warm outside and I too have a line of flapping washing.
Pate stuffed mushroom (5) for lunch and sw chicken tikka with rice for tea.
He a is milk and Heb is used as breadcrumbs to top the mushrooms.0 -
Well done to all the losses coming in. Amazing loss jockos!
Plan for today:
B - Overnight oats with berries (heb)
L - Bacon and bean soup
S - Biscuit (4), clementine, wotsits (4.5), hifi (3)
D - Chicken enchilada pasta bake (hea)
P - FF greek yoghurt, berries, meringue (2.5)
E - extra 30 mins walking to normal
Hope everybody gets a chance to enjoy the sunshine! I've taken it as a sign to start getting mine and the kids summer wardrobes together. Buying mostly size 16's but bought some size 14 leggings and jeans to motivate me too! This time last year I was 6 months pregnant (but you couldn't tell!) and wearing the size 22 jeans that I was also wearing pre pregnancy. I never want to go back there. One of my regrets about being obese and pregnant was that nobody could tell any different. We didn't tell our next door neighbours I was pregnant until a week before baby was born! (she was 3 weeks early though).0
