My problems on Sw in the past were not having Syns and therefore no where to really cut back when the going got tough and milk......I am a self confessed tea-aholic.

Fingers crossed this seems ok, but please feel free to point out where I go wrong. Thanks!

Good that you've analysed where you went wrong before. There really isn't any purpose in going without syns. I'd suggest the full 105 (even if you use some for extra milk) and you can always cut back if you hit a plateau.

Your menu looked OK fozzie. Obviously you did damage limitation with the caf! sandwich and counted the syns so if that's what you fancied no problem. I'd suggest you add some strawberries or raspberries (cheapish at the moment) to your breakfast just to keep the Speed up. Personally I'd find it hard to have cereal and milk for teas all day from the HEA allowance. I think I get away with it my only having cereal a couple of times a week and drinking hot squash or Earl Grey (black) now and again. Great idea bulking out the Bolognese with veg. I always do it and I think I'd miss just going back to basic meat/onions and tomatoes.

    There I have said it!!!

Hope you get what you want beanie.

I'm still dithering about WI. I didn't get organised in time for the 9.00 a.m. one this morning, so thought I'd go mid-morning but when I checked the website that class had disappeared. There's another at 6 p.m. but not sure whether after holiday gain it's a good idea to go late in the day???

Not sure if it applies to all branches but Frylight Olive was back in my Aldi this week on special and they had large boxes (containing small packs) of Melba toasts.

    Today's EE menu:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB Puffed Wheat with strawberries and HEA milk
L: may just have a small snack (strawberries and ham?) of I decide to go to tea time WI.
D: baked haddock, new potatoes, cauli and broccoli
Syns: probably cheese sauce with veg.

Thanks Lois. Is the 5 % fat rule on all meat? As that will make shopping easier.

    Breakfast: half a banana.

Lunch: 3 sesame ryvitas topped with tinned salmon = HEB
    Salad
1 pack of co op simply crisps (18g) = 5 syns?

Dinner: chilli con carne & rice.

    Snacks: pink lady Apple, tangerine

Soya milk for cups of teas 300ml = HEA
    Kindness costs nothing :)

It applies to all mince. Other cuts like joints, steaks and chops should have 'all visible fat removed' preferably before cooking so just look out for the leanest you can find when you're shopping.

    Hello...

only a quick post whilst I'm on break to say hi :D

Welcome to the board new peeps

I have weigh in tonight and it looks like i'll have gained again.. we're not stopping to class thankfully as we're out at 8pm. I can't explain my gain/loss thing that's going on and it's getting to a point where I feel like I'm lying at class when I've genuinely eaten no differently week in, week out but gained one week and lost the next.. I'm just keeping on plodding and it'll come off eventually.

Sorry that turned into a bit of an essay :rotfl: apologies...

Good luck beanie and other Thursday weighers.. hope you all get the losses you want and deserve :T

be back tomorrow to read through what I've missed xx

Thank you maman - all feedback appreciated!

I don't like much milk on cereal but tea.....sigh.....but have managed to stick to 300ml of the 1% (just).

Have just got some Koko to try as I could have more of that, but as I dislike soya, almond and all the other "milks" I have tried, I am not holding out much hope!

    :o

    Weigh day so keeping it light as always;

breakfast: heb urban fruit mango and an easy peepler plus a slice of malt loaf (4syn)
lunch: chicken noodle mugshot (free) cherries
    mid afternoon: easy peeler

tea will be after weigh in. tempted to lift out my frozen pulled pork and have that with a little veg as it will be late :)

got some risotto rice on Tuesday as I love risotto but I've never cooked it. going to try and make some simple veggie risottos which will be free and will make great lunches for work. plus little one will love aranchini made from any leftovers (baked not fried though ;) ) got a £5 morrisons voucher from my more card points when I bought it too so that will make next week easier as I'll use that to get some fresh veg and eggs in :)

Well done mama & all the other loosers :D

I'm ready for my chilli con carne and have a sainsburys diet bitter lemon drink....it's 0 fat, 0 sugar so I'm hoping it's ok.

I also made 2 batches of butternut squash curry, and I'm wondering what other meals I could batch cook. Maybe some sheppards pie, spag Bol? I've also been given a soup maker after my last one blew up, so look forward to using it.
