Today at group I lost 1.5lbs and got slimmer of the week! Just 1.5lbs to go for my 5.5st award!

Unfortunately the slimmer of the week basket was a bit sparse, only 5 things in there and 1 of them was mine! There was 1 orange and 1 plum.

Have been learning the pay desk - will probably be doing it on my own next week, it seems quite easy. The only thing I haven't been able to learn properly is entering a new member.

Am going to give SP a go this week - fingers crossed!

    Have a good week all.

Forgive me if I'm asking an incredibly daft question but does the free fruit for SOTW have to be fruit? Would vegetables or say tinned potatoes be acceptable? It's just I forget frequently and I don't have a lot of fruit in the house. Then again I don't have a lot of veg either - it's usually loose or dozen but just wondering.

I’d rather do longer hours and have a whole day free, shala, but enjoy your extra time today.

I'd been at work since 7am, so I was glad to leave early :D my brain had gone (not that its ever there much:rotfl:) and the system went down..

Can I join the group too Shala, I'm hoping to lose a pound to get into the next stone bracket (on the SW scales) this week. I seem to have been hovering on the brink for weeks.

Course.. good luck for changing numbers, always think that adds motivation :T

    Great losses Abbafan, GFB :T:T

    Feel better soon Mary xx

Had a right game with my breakfast this morning.. decided I wanted poached eggs but they just fell apart so I had a stroop and fried some instead - then I dropped and broke those as well  still ate it, if I wasn't on SW then i'd have gone out for pastries and pancakes!

    B - eggs & toast (heb) flora (2)
    L - 1/2 melon, crisps (4)
    T - chicken biryani, yogurt
    S - milk (hea)

    xx

Well No Junk July's already gone wrong for me, not my fault though there was a crunchie in my bedside drawer calling my name :o I'll settle for having no binges in July, if I can manage that I'll be more than happy

Top Girl that leek & potato soup sounds delish! My favourite synned meal is either corned beef hash or pasta bake using a Homepride jar, both fab comfort foods. If I know I'm having either of these I'll use my daily syns on them and attempt to behave for the rest of day :D

I'm with you Lois no curry I've ever made beats one from a jar so I've admitted defeat and given up. Tomorrow's lunch will be a korma curry using a WW jar - 7.5 syns for the full thing so split between 2 of us it's not so bad really.

    Today's food:

B - apple & cinnamon porridge with tsp of honey (1 syn)
    L - last night's chicken leftovers
T - gammon grill with SW chips and veg

Other syns: crunchie (9.5) a few bites of a protein cookie (will say 3) and I might fancy a G&T later (3.5) That'll take me slightly over on syns but I've been under 10 for the last few days so it all evens itself out

I think it depends what the consultant says. When I first started SW the group rule was any free food could go in the basket and it was great if you won it as there would be tinned and packet foods that you could put away for another time, as well as fruit of varying freshness. I won a marrow once - the member obviously had a glut!

The group I go to now only does fruit and veg, I haven't won it yet so I don't know how good the quality is.

Favourite synned meal that you make?

Mine is slow cooked leek and potato soup. 12 syns for the lot, makes 3 large portions and tastes incredibly buttery. Syns are for 75g lurpak lighter and 15g flour. I'm sure I could have a go with butter buds or buttery frylight, but it is worth it for me.

    That soup sounds lovely.

My favourite synned meal would have to be fajitas - syns for the wraps, and I do love guacamole with them.

Ouch, mary! Hope the pain subsides soon.

Ah, shala, I’d have left too if the computer was down – but I still wouldn’t want to go back on Sunday! You are very conscientious!

My favourite synned meal (and my grandkids’ too) is macaroni cheese. If I count cheese as hexa, then it’s 8 syns per portion – but worth it!

    Here’s Saturday’s effort (not great):
Breakfast: hexb toast & jam (2)
Lunch: hexa cheese omelette with salad (lettuce, syboes, tomatoes, cucumber – no dressing)
Snack: Borders oat crumble biscuit (raspberry and other stuff) – (4)
Dinner: shared curry (chiken tikka botti Khanna ??!!??) with plain boiled rice (8)
    Gelatelli Mini-Mix Chocolate Coated Ice-Cream Lolly(6)
    Snack: fruit selection

I’ll need to do better tomorrow.

Interesting to see posts about the slimmer of the week basket - our consultant keeps mentioning to people to bring something as the basket looks so sparse.

I usually take an apple - a decent one but looked in this week and the other 2 apples were really bruised and someone had added a banana what had seen better times! Others seem to add one of those cereal bars they sell at club - no idea what they are as saw they have milk in so can't have them but I'm sure those cant be free as lots of sugar in.

I must speak to the consultant as when I went a few years ago mug shots and vegetables were added and they looked so nice.

The consultant buys the raffle prize which always looks great this week was pasta and lots of vegetables.

    Today's food for me was

Breakfast - weetabix and soya milk and a banana

Lunch - at Chinese restaurant - lunch deal a drink (Diet Coke) and soya chicken vegan style (quorn like) in sweet n sour sauce and boiled rice then fruit salad for pud - I tend to think the sweet and sour sauce would be about 5 syns?

Dinner - jacket spud, beans and salads

Syns - after lunch didn't think I should have many so didn't have my weekend glass of wine!

Wow - things do tend to differ with the SOTW basket. Our consultant has said pretty much anything is acceptable as long as it's either free or low Syn.

Some people put fruit or veg in and others tinned or packet stuff. I usually take the latter.

Another time I won it there was a tin of irish stew in there, but it was 12 months out of date - it went straight in the bin! This time there was a packet of wholemeal pitta breads in there - I checked and they were 7 syns each.
