We're off on Tuesday morning, leaving home at 6am. Shala we're starting and finishing in France but have yet to decide where we'll be going in between, LOL! We're just going to decide day to day.
We're hoping to get down to Spain and Portugal and possibly Germany on the way back. This is our first really long holiday and if all goes well we'd like to do more long trips. Places like Croatia look lovely from the pictures we've seen and maybe a possibility for another trip at some time.
Not back until beginning of October:D. Really looking to get away as once we come back DH has to have a radioactive scan and then an operation on his wrist which means we won't be able to travel for about 6 months; so not even weekends away!

God idea about freezing the stand and stuff tacos Shala, do you do it with the stuff actually in them?
Yes we fill them first, bake in the oven so the cheese is melted and then cool and freeze.
I eat them cold for lunch but you could warm them through if you have a microwave available.
Not Nigella on facebook has a few ideas.. but I can't get onto the album she has to post a link..Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Evening all
Denise, the holiday sounds great - I can recommend a good campsite in SE Spain if you get down that way. It's very popular with the Spanish in July and August, not to mention bl**dy hot so leave it until September. DH and I have toured many parts of Western Europe and there are some lovely places, such as northern Italy, their Lake District. We didn't get to Croatia but I know people who have and they say it's stunning, and great for motor homes.
Shala - good luck this week, you can do it.
Beanie - hope you're feeling better. Is there anything you can do to help with the pain?
MrsP - have a lovely holiday, whereabouts in Devon are you going to be?
elone - don't be too hard on yourself, it's hard to stick to plan without a fully functioning kitchen. Do your best while the work is being done, then get back on plan as soon as you can to limit the damage.
Beg - sizing is very annoying. There was a photo on the front page of one of the papers this week of a girl struggling to fit into a pair of jeans. They were from H&M and labelled size 16, and she was annoyed because she wears size 12 or 14 from other shops. I've found that the cheaper shops skimp on the sizes more than other shops.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone - don't forget the speed foods!

Just keep taking the tablets Lois & hope the two kinds of muscle relaxants kick in soon.
Thank you for asking though.
What really cheeses me off is that the eating just goes dire when the pain levels are not so good.

Hi all. Not been on for a week (sorry!)...I really should make a few minutes each day to catch up on the thread. I get so much help and inspiration from it when I do read that I should start to give a bit back.
Anyway, weigh in this week (having had a bucket full of ice cream on Sunday and went out for a curry on Tuesday) and I lost 1/2 a lb. I was absolutely thrilled.
I am really enjoying the journal...so much so that I bought another countdown (well, a gift voucher for one) this week so I get a second one for free. As I said to the consultant - this way I'm committed up to Christmas, at which point I should be near target, I'd buy another countdown in September anyway and this way I not only get the free weeks but I also save the fiver that I'd spend on the journal :money: !
Am proud of what I've done today - where I live, there's an Airshow, so DH and I went down to watch it. I took a handbag full of satsumas so I wouldn't get tempted and every time I wanted fish & chips or an ice cream or whatever, I had a satsuma. Came home with a handbag full of peel, a smug sense of self-satisfaction and all my syns intact!
Today's food (SP day):
Brunch: Bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms tomato
Snack while out: Satsumas
Snack when arriving home: Hifi bars (HEB1)
Dinner: Salmon fillet, roasted veg (courgette, peppers, red onion, cherry tomato). Apple. Bag of Pufts (3.5 syns)
HEA: Milk
HEB2: Hifi barsWe may not have it all together, but together we have it all

Thanks LL; sounds like you've done a bit of touring around. So far we've only done mainly the northern departments of France, a bit of Belgium and the Moselle in Germany. We tend not to use campsites if we can avoid them as more often than not they're quite away from towns and villages and we like to be within walking distance as often as possible so tend to use aires & stellplatz and whatever the equivalent are in other countries!
Today is using up day to try to empty the fridge/freezer as much as possible.
B - SW fryup
L - HB braised steak, onions (using small shallots), button mushrooms. Serving with Jersey Royals & cabbage
D - egg, chips & beans
Have DD1 and partner coming for lunch today and then DD2 coming this afternoon (she was out late last night and didn't think she could manage to get here in time for lunch, LOL!)
HEA - milk as usual
HEB - not sure but maybe a couple of Alpen Lights
Syns - weekend wine; Snack-a-jack 2.5
