LLS - have you got a butchers near you? I bought some nice braising steak at my local butcher the other day as I'm doing HB steak on Sunday as I have my daughter and her partner coming for lunch and they want a proper dinner so meals will be swapped around and we'll eat something light in the evening. I bought 4 approx. 8oz steaks for about a fiver, which is just as cheap as buying a joint from the supermarket and a much leaner piece of meat than you'd probably get from most supermarkets; and the taste will definitely be far better too.

Have to say I'm really looking forward to it!

we have one a couple of miles from the house - I keep forgetting I've actually got £6 in savings with them (haven't added to it is 3/4 weeks was doing £2 a week (keeping it low weekly as for every £1 you get a raffle ticket for the draw the following Monday to win meat prizes!) I will investigate a week on Monday (after payday) and put some more in the savings acct and also enquire re prices also fat content of the mince. I've checked and braising steak from a supermarket it £9.50-£9.97 per kg :)

Makes my butchers price really good and it certainly looks a lot better than anything I've seen in the supermarket. He had a really good offer on if you bought 5lb at a time but as I'm going on holiday only wanted enough for Sunday dinner. The offer was £15.99 for 5lb, so £3.20 a lb. Hope he's got a similar offer when I come back from holiday in just over 3 months time!

Have to say I don't buy my mince from the butchers as it's definitely fattier than the 5% from the supermarket.

Ugh, not so good for me today at WI. After 4 weeks of STS I put half a pound on :(
So my plan is to write a food diary & post it here.
Plan my meals day by day & do my shopping based on this.
    Drink plenty of water.
Try some different meals from my green day cookbook.
Stay to group as much as I can & be consistent with which group I go to.

    Food today:
    B: oats & soy milk (HE A& B) & tbs jam (2syns)
L: baked potato, fat free cottage cheese, spinach & tomato salad
D: pasta, aubergine, courgette, asparagus, red pepper, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese (HE A)

    Good luck to everyone else!

Em - good idea to mix your meals up a bit. A good website for veggie (and vegan) meals is the jack monroe one: used to be called "agirlcalledjack" but now is something like "cookingonabootstrap".

Your menu for today doesn't look too bad but you don't seem to be having many syns. You need to have at least 5 a day and up to 15. Also you could have another HEB. Doesn't have to be carby stuff like Ryvita or bread - could have some dried apricots, tinned fruit, nuts, seeds etc.

Hello all! Delighted to report a 2.5lb loss :j If I can lose more than a pound next week I'll be in the 11s again - great motivation.

I'm a tad hungover after my cousin's wedding do last night but am pleased to report that I had an on-plan chilli before going so all I ate while there was a piece of wedding cake and 1/4 of a Scotch Egg (couldn't resist, it winked at me!). I did however end up having three enormous glasses of white wine (I'd estimate a bottle's worth) so am feeling a bit green around the gills today. Just had a McDonald's meal, totally medicinal. I was going to just grab an Iceland ready meal later but looking ahead I've got another ridiculously busy week coming up so I'm going to batch cook as much as I can this weekend. Spag Bol for tea it is!

Hugs to Lantanna and Lush, sorry to hear about your work woes, but well done on the loss Lush!

I've been going through box sets of stuff, just finished an epic watching of The Walking Dead and I'm just about to finish off Happy Valley...why did I not see this before!!

Ohh, I've just watcher the first series of HV and loved it (always late to the party), now wondering where I can get the second, I might have to buy the DVD I think. I've got a whole series of The Bridge recorded and I love that but I can't crochet at the same time as I have to concentrate on the subtitles :o

I was looking at a local butcher on facebook of all places yesterday - he was posting about his 3% fat mince, burgers and meatballs and that's certainly better than the 5% stuff from the supermarket. The stir fry beef looked beautiful as well, I definitely need to make a trip there one day to stock up.

Looking at pics online of the SW planners, I don't think that's really how I'd like to see my info presented IYSWIM. Those Fox & Moon ones that are all over Instagram don't really do it for me either, so actually think I might just carry on as I am with my own notebook, but maybe with some pretty coloured pens!

Fully understand Mary that feeling of buying your clothes from normal shop #goyoumary :T:T:T. Talking of clothes I bought a vest top thingy from Asda today just to wear under cardi and I looked at a 14 and thought 'no bloody way will I get into that' and in the end chose an 18 . Tried it on at home and I would say that it is a comfortable fit without being overly clingy iykwim. What is it with sizing . Right rant over now :rotfl:.

Hope you all have a good weekend. Where has the lovely warmth and sunshine gone? At least it's dry today - well mostly so far but heavy rain forecast for later.
