Thanks for that, I'll check if Tesco/Asda sell them here. Are they nice?

ETA - they're not listed by either company online, so they may only be available in NI - I bet it makes a change to know of something you can get that we can't get here in England. :D

It sure does! We haven't got the Heck sausages here and are usually behind with everything! Yes I like them, the leek and black pepper ones in particular.

Everyone was raving about Cheeseburger pasta last night, so I might look into that!

Just remembered I've got 2 big watermelons to do something about when I go home tonight! No pun intended ! :rotfl::rotfl:

Brilliant loss lantanna.:T Hope you get something nice for the interview but be very mse:money:as it'll soon be too big for you.:D

It's strange how STS is disappointing lush. I felt the same. Hopefully you'll get a decent loss next week.

tete, the SAS log is just a way of analysing/reviewing what works and doesn't work for you. It stands from Slimmers against Sabotage so helps you find your danger areas.

Of course it's up to you if you want to join online for the syn values but you could get them on here and with a bit of googling. I'm not just thinking of saving you money but I'm sure if you visited the thread often it would help motivate you.

I've got to try and do a meal plan for four days, using up what I've got in the fridge and buying a minimum of fresh stuff. We're out for a meal on Monday night so that's one less to plan for.

    EE menu for today:
B: NAS grapefruit, baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: ham with LO mash and veg
D: burger, tomatoes, fried onions, peas, SW chips
    Syns: squirt of HP sauce

Dinner might change but I know what I've written I've got in already. We're going to the theatre tonight so not sure about wine syns, certainly less than a normal Friday but may be swapped for an ice cream.;)
  • Hi everyone

Well as a non group member I've never heard of a SAS log either - nor have I heard of a 'for and against' can someone enlighten me? I'm guessing it's do with motivations as to why you want to lose the weight etc? I tend to be very self sabotagey at times so I might give the SAS one a go and see if it helps

I've done the same tete joined online and paid a reduced fee or 3 months, that'll take me up to my holiday where I hope to be either at or near target. I really missed having the syns calculator on my phone, it's a lot quicker than googling :) Will have to scour the bookshop as well for more recipe books I'm forever running out of ideas

No sign of mallons sausages at my Tesco (I checked online), I've never found a sausage (other than highly synful Richmonds) that I can say I actually enjoy. I might try the BGTY ones next as I like the burgers

I have a thumping headache today .. I think my hayfever tablets are sending me woozy I could happily just curl up in my bed and stay there

    Today's food:

B - Puffed wheat half HEB with milk HEA, bananas & satsuma
L - Spaghetti on toast half HEB plus 3 syns for extra slice
T - Something chicken-y I've not decided yet with rice and veggies

    Happy Friday everyone :)
  • Hello all (a SP at the scales this morning show a gain...we'll have to see what her scales say tomorrow. Maybe the blowout of last weekend is still lingering)

I really hope I get my diary when I go to class tomorrow...I do see it as a real motivational tool...I also (I think it was shala who said) will really keep to plan as I don't want to write bad stuff in it and I promise to write down every bite..in truth *guides honour dib dib*

I just bought 3 desk fans for the office - kiss of death...it's just started raining *rolls eyes*

    Food today:
    B: 2 boiled eggs - fruit salad
L: ham cheese and salad sandwich
D: steak and salad with sweet potato *fries*

Syns weekend wine (this has to be looked at - I haven't really been counting my wine syns and just guestimating them...so from tomorrow I'm going to bank my syns and count them down...pretty sure this is why I'm not losing any better than I am...again...this will all go in the diary)

Ended up eating at the work event - only a small plate but I've still worked it out to be around 15.5 syns in itself - not worth it either as now I feel bloated and rubbish :( Ad dto the 3 syns for half of littlies slice of fruit loaf this morning and I'm at 18.5 syns already!

amending my tea; going to have beef strips with lettuce/spinach, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, beetroot, pickled onions and carrot with a drizzle of fat free fromage frais...sounds weird but I love dit in my pasta salad the other day so think it will actually make a welcome change from salad cream/cottage cheese!

I'm late to the party but well done Arkers and our SOTW!

This week has been crazy for me so I gave up on SP pretty quickly and am back doing EE. My weigh-in is on Monday so we'll see how I do. I'm expecting a maintain or a small loss but we'll see!

Having an Icyland SW cottage pie for dinner tonight as I'm having a Chinese meal tomorrow night so trying to balance it out a bit.

I am determined to give SP a really good go so I might spend a bit of time planning some meals and looking up recipes this weekend.

Betty - have a look at the menu on the SW website. There are lots of SP meals on there. Have to say I don't find them very filling without the carbs so I very rarely do them.

I agree. The best way I found is to substitute carrot and swede mash for potatoes but that's not very summery. What about a bowl of veg soup before a salad?

I don't mind carrot & swede mash but DH not so keen but doesn't mind just swede - but says he'd need a huge pile of it if we wasn't going to get potatoes:rotfl:.

Not keen on eating veg soup before a salad; would rather have salad as a starter and then have something like a veg curry with cauli rice as a main (would still need to do rice for DH as he really didn't like cauli rice.

SAME, if I can lose 2lbs a week for the three months I'll be at target by my holiday. Even 1lb a week would mean a good stone off, which would be nice. I've ordered the one pot meals book and the cooking for one one. I usually end up batch cooking by default as I live alone but not everything freezes well so it'll be interesting to see what that book's like.

Thanks Maman for the advice, as always, I know it's not very MSE to pay out when there's so uch help online, but I must admit the food search algorithms seem to have improved massively since the last time I used them, and there's also an app now?! When did that appear?

I've printed off an SAS log so going to give that a go. Just looking at it I can see some of my pitfalls highlighted already!

I'm another one who doesn't find SP days very satisfying. I've only tried them about three times but always end up bingeing either on the day or the day after.

Had a change of plan for lunch when I went in the fridge and found leftover pasta (with bacon, onion, mushrooms, baby corn, peppers, cherry toms and tinned chopped toms) so I had that with salad leaves. Tea will still be roast chicken and veg, and... I'm going to pop a bit of it in a box with some quinoa and take it along to the conference tomorrow :o:o:D Is that really sad?
