Damaged my car due to grit bin in the road, can i claim from council/RA?

Bloody council! Always putting things in the way of cars. Just the other day I kerbed my alloy wheel. I knew the pavement was there, but it is only small and it's the same colour as the road. Claimed £10,000 and was given £20,000. Pavement outside my house is now green.0

No, I'm not disclosing where i live for obvious reasons.0 -
That bin is in the most ridiculous place!! Especially as there's almost a custom made area on that corner in front the hedge that's off the highway. If the bin is where it is to stop cars parking there, then as the OP said, there should be double yellows.0

I'm perplexed as to why you are constantly trying to paint me as a liar? What would I possibly have to gain from doing so? If you have nothing worthwhile to say then go and troll some other thread.0 -

It was dark so what does it matter?
Let's see the damage to the car then. You've already got photos as you sent them to the body shop.0 -
'There is no bin'
Photo provided
No apology
'Show us a street view'
'I'd rather not' - Perfectly understandable.
OP - post a pic of the damage if you want, but I don't think it'll help. We've established that the bin was put there 'by the residents, for the residents' so you'll be claiming from yourself, and you'll lose, in my opinion. This was a misjudgement of the size of a driver's car as far as I can see, rather than blindly driving into something at speed.0
