I have heard it costs a lot to repair the doors on some vehicles.

BMW M3, Audis and Toyota Yaris seem to be the worst. I am in the dark as to why the Yaris is a expensive to repair as an M3 but it's a matter of fact apparently.

Because a new poster started a thread on Internet forum and said so, and people don't make up wild stories on the Internet.

I'm hoping the dents can just be knocked out but might be complicated as it's at the corners though no on the moulding but if it's not done perfect the doors won't match up, taking it to body shops at the weekend for a quote. If it's much over £250 I'll just get the insurance company to sort it out.

It's not in the car park, it's in the road. It also has no proper markings.

All the grit bins I have seen have been bright yellow and about 3' high.

...how did you managed to hit it with your doors anyway? Why didn't you stop when you first hit it?

It only hit the doors, I think I was already slightly past it when I took the front left a bit to ensure the car coming the other way could get past but just swung it a little too far and the corner of it has gone into the middle of the side of the car.

Obviously I stopped as soon as I hit it and reversed it off.

Putting aside the fact that I don't believe anyone puts a salt bin on a corner, and that if you were going at low speed and scraped a salt bin, you'd possibly scratch your paintwork but not dent it hugely, what's the street where this is supposed to have happened? and how long has this salt bin been there without anyone hitting it, even at night, despite it being green and In the road?
  • Still no photo... I'm wondering whether to be surprised.

Wow amazing levels of rudeness from many posters here that is utterly unwarranted, i was merely asking for a bit of advice. If you have nothing constructive to say then say nothing. I was busy and so had not posted photos but here they are naysayers.

It is a little higher than i though, though still pretty invisible as you come round the corner.

Oddly the paintwork is absolutely fine and the bin itself has no damage at all.

Either your residents don't take much pride in the area or you didn't take those photos today.

What's wrong with the area and how is that relevant? I took them when I got home about 3 hours ago. Why so determined to try and accuse someone of being a liar for no apparent reason?
