MPG Misselling by a Salesman

Maybe it was? But it doesn't change the fact the car isn't what I was told I was buying.
The financial side of it isn't the part I'm arguing against. It's the fact the car doesn't do what i was told it would, from the horse's mouth.
Long and short of it is, its not as described.0 -
It's the 1.5dci eco engine Renault Kadjar. Everything is fine with the car other than the fact it's a world away from its description mpg wise. If I actually run the figures I'm probably achieving more like 39mpg.0

Can you prove that the salesman said you would get 70mpg ? From earlier posts he said up to not would get.
To be honest if you can't prove this then you will struggle to get anywhere with this complaint, especially with Arnold Shark.0 -
Yeh the main stumbling block I think is the fact he didn't write it down. I'm really annoyed that a company can just straight up lie to you and it be able to laugh at you afterwards when you complain. I'm tempted to go in to the dealership and kick up a fuss at this point because I know ive been lied to. The figures I worked on affordability were based on the mpg figures he told me. I get that he probably went off of the official ones but its still a lie. Surely the honest answer would have been to say that he couldn't guarantee it. That's the point I would have walked away from the sale.0

Since the vehicle has been out a while, what are the figures on parkers?0

I also had to get a car go not lose my job after a car crash and had no money to purchase. I went for a newer car expecting better economy, coupled with not having to pay mot's or tax it seemed a fairly solid bet. Unfortunately it wasn't but I'm sure youve never made a mistake in your life motorguy?
Come on DM at least make your threads believable.
And wether the Kadjar is on Real MPG or not is irrelevant, everybody knows that the EU tests are comparative and the MPG obtained is only obtainable for a small number of drivers in real world conditions.
You will probably find this out when you actually have a licence and buy a car.0 -
Yes, i've made mistakes, but i take ownership for them.
Alarm bells must surely have been ringing that a 4x4 style car was going to achieve 70mpg?
Even a small amount of due diligence would have told you otherwise.
If you're currently spending around £200 a month on fuel @ 43mpg, then you'd have been spending approx £70 a month less @ 70mpg
Again, if finances are that tight that that is causing you a large amount of stress and financial hardship, perhaps a brand new £16K+ 4x4 style car was the wrong car?
And the rest!
Looking on the Renault web site the 1.5dCi starts at over £20,0000 -

Hang about, what other forum name am I using sorry?
I am also very impressed with several posters own innate belief they can make any judgement they see fit on another human being based on a post on a forum. Go take a look at yourselves.
I'll take this question back to somebody with qualifications and a bit of decency and won't be making the mistake of asking a question on here again. I'm sure it's lovely in your closed community circle jerk but unfortunately I'll have to pass.0
