No luck for me either. I decided to do a test this morning and it was negative. Think AF is on its way now.
I wouldn't normally do a test so early, usually I wait to be a few days late but as we have been really good and regular this month the stress of not knowing was doing my head in
Nevermind.....:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hi all,
just looking for advice on things to and not to do/eat etc whilst ttc or in early pregnancy.
i have no idea of my cycle as only just come off the pill after about 14 years so we are just going to try and let nature take it's course for a while, but i want to make sure i'm not doing anything that will hinder the process or do damage before i get a BFP! - i'm obviously not drinking and i don't smoke and trying to reduce my caffiene intake but is there anything else?
also...sorry if this is tmi....how do you stop it all just coming out afterand how long does it take for them to swim up?
can you tell i'm a complete newbie at this!0 -

Hi.
Sounds like you are doing ok already. Only thing I would add is to take folic acid everyday.
I don't think there is much that you can't/shouldn't do or eat etc whilst TTC.
I know that once pregnant there are things you should avoid but I'm not 100% of the full list of things.
Oh and your question about it coming out afterwards
Best thing I found was to put a pillow under your bum after sex with a wad of tissue between your legs.
Doing this has 2 effects....it stops pretty much all of it coming out (for me anyway) and it tilts your pelvis so that the sperm is more in contact with your cervix.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hi stargirl, can't really help you with the diet stuff, but when it comes to the semen I can tell you what I've read.
You should be doing the deed with him on top or with him behind, and then stay lying down for 5-10 minutes. No more is necesseary. It is suggested that you put a small pillow under your pelvis for this time, to get the semen in the right position in relation to your cervix. Not a big pillow though, as that would place the semen behind the cervix.
When you get up then, all that should be coming out will be semenal fluid, the little swimmers should be off up your CM by then.Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0 -
oh and just to add, when he is ejaculating he should push into you, not keep going in and out. That too makes sure the sperm is going deep inside where it should be.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

Thanks for the quick replies...will try the pillow trick next time!
shelly - i've been taking folic acid for the last few months too!0 -
Hello there - sorry about those negatives. Got those fingers crossed for next month.
May be TMI but here's where I'm at (learning lots every day!)
although I didn't test, I'm pretty sure i ov'd this month from the info on here about CM and the like. My calculations (which are no doubt wrong) suggest AF is due in approx 10 days.
Hubbie and I have been keeping ourselves busy and we'll just have to wait and see *is there any risk of having s8x during this part of my cycle?*
I've had light cramps and think my b**bs have been sore - switch bra style to see if it was that. Think my imagination might be willing them to be sore!!
I honestly didn't think a few weeks ago that i would be this bothered - but i am so there we go. Keeping those expectations managed as much as possible and veyr much feel part of the ttc club!0 -

sorry it hasn't worked this month honeypop ... I've got everything crossed for you that it happens next month!Well no luck for me this time, after using the o sticks since my last AF (6 weeks) and getting negative every time, I had AF make a very light appearance last night.
Although I did think I got a positive result one day 2.5 weeks ago but next day had gone back to neg so I wasn't sure if it was or not, so maybe it was positive after all as surely I ovulated if AF is here!?
Have dr's appointment for next Tues to discuss the day 21 tests but no point now as AF came in the end.
I kept an eye out for other signs of ovulation, but I don't seem to get that much of a change in CM. Thinking I should try BBT, but since this only tells me when I have ovulated, would it be pointless charting this if my cycle is not regular?
I don't know whether charting your BBT will help you spot your fertile stage more easily but it may give you a slightly clearer picture of when you're ovulating because sometimes temperature dips a little just before ovulation so even with not being regular you may get a day's warning and could try that day as well as on day of ovulation?
I chart on both www.mymonthlycycle.com and www.fertilityfriend.com A lot of TTCers on here prefer mymonthlycycle seem to prefer which I think has a prettier layout but I find it more difficult to understand my cycle on. It will calculate an approximate ovulation date for the next month for you though which could be useful. Fertilityfriend uses a chart which I find easier to understand my cycle and what the temperatures mean. It's helped me know my body a little better and has given me an early warning that I may have a luteal phase defect too.0 -
It's month 3 of ttc for me, and I've had enough. I was so stressed about maybe getting a BFP last month, I've decided I'm not actually aiming to conceive this month.
Things came to a head last night. DH told me he felt like I only wanted him for his swimmers, and that he felt under pressure to perform. As if! It certainly didn't show!. I had to explain that now I'm not on chemical contraception, I'm a slave to my hormones, and mine are screaming 'BREED'! He seemed placated when I told him I'd had enough of actively trying, and that we should just 'do it' (sorry if tmi).
Why are men so odd? DH would previously have been thrilled at me beating him over the head and dragging him off back to the cave iyswim. Now there's actually a real purpose to do it, other than for fun, he's suddenly feeling all objectified and offended!
I feel like giving up now, but I'm not getting any younger. Any thoughts from anyone else?0
