Can I just ask....you say you need to abstain for 5 days prior to OH doing his sample, was that figure on advice from doc or hospital or a figure you have been told from a friend/family?

The doctor said 3-5 days, and the lab said 5 days is better. To abstain for 3 though would be ok if I was sure ovulation had passed, as BDing isn't essential (just for fun!) by that time I suppose.

Just got to find a time when the lab is open which coincides with a time OH can do the business and get there easily.

    Thanks for the reply.

I know what you mean about timing the day he does the sample for a time when you don't need him so much :D
Hubby has to do another test soon and I have told him he either goes when AF is here or very early or very late in my cycle :o

Don't like to symptom spot, but that was at the weekend and I was really ratty so maybe I was ovulating then, as I've read some people get PMT-like signs at that time.

I was really ratty this weekend too  , but also really happy :D so random mood swings really for no apparent reason (DH was like, are you hormonal by any chance??)
I think I might have ov'd yesterday (temping but not got enough points to decide(4 points inc todays :( , 3 x ~97.2F and today 97.5F), had a small rise today but might be normal pre-ov or might be start of luteal phase, dunno yet??) but should be occuring sometime in the last few days or about now I would hope.....
  • Hi all, haven't been on for a while - work starting to pick up again, so I actually have to.... err ... work :rotfl:

:grouphug: to Gracie, I'm so sorry to hear your news

:grouphug: to everyone else as we all seem to be a bit down at the moment

Not much happening here, had AF (finally), so now on CD11. AF was very painful, but at least managable with hefty doses of painkillers (not sure if they're OK to take whilst ttc, but I need them :o as I really wouldn't be able to function otherwise - still better than before I had a years worth of injections (couldn't even get out of bed with tons of painkillers), so a definite improvement.

So all in all, I'm on month 1 of the second round of ttc (tried for 10 months prior to going on injections).
  • Only popped on briefly but just wanted to send my love to Gracie. I hope you are okay, hun.

Will be back soon to post properly.

  • Hi peeps - not been on here for a while - hope everyone is ok.

Fed up today as af appeared. OH has sworn off alcohol as of today, and I have too - can't take many more months of the 2WW. We're taking our vitamins and trying to eat healthily and cut down our stress levels (tough, but we're trying).

I'm seriously considering getting some of the OV tests from Access Diagnostics. The thing is, do I buy a 5 pack, a 10 pack or a 20 pack?

I have no idea if I am actually OV-ing, especially as I was on Depo for about 4 years (stopped it about 20 months ago and have been ttc for 9 months). My af is reasonably regular at between 24 and 27 days. So when do I start testing? Should I get a 2 pack and test right from the end of af?

I'd be really grateful for any advice - I'm so narked about it all today. It doesn't help that my office is full of pregnant women and new and expectant fathers (well maybe not full but you get my drift!).

    Thanks,

    Annie x

[Edit to say I've just read about Gracie's news - so sorry to hear what's happened. Hope you're as ok as poss *hugs*]
  • Hi, thanks for all the messages of support, I couldnt resist lurking, and my head is trying to get into a better place.

Fairy Elephant, I hadnt realised we would be IVFing together, my cycle should start in appx 2 weeks, but dont do all the shut down stuff as my FSH levels are too high to make it worth the stimulation - I still only get 1 egg, and it keeps the costs down. I am lucky really that the clinic can still help, as usually with my FSH level it would be the end of the road.

GracieP - I was so sorry to hear your news, think you are right about the early miscarriage, not all implanted embryos become pregnancies, but that does not in any way make it easier. You did conceive and you will again. Just keep the faith

God bless to all, looking forward to more BFPs - Lilo

  • Hi girls, feeling worse than poo today. Things have ended between myself and my fiance. Am now wondering if after all our BDing recently has become of anything......and for once in my life, I'm hoping not. Can't stop crying and feel so down. x
