  • Thanks everyone for your (very fast!) messages of support.

I am trying to be sensible and practical and logical about things.

I know that we are luckier than some people because we can see our way to affording another IVF cycle, and although not as young as we could be (me 38, DH47) we are not 'over the hill' yet in terms of being able to conceive....

It's just that at times like this it all seems so UNFAIR! I just want to scream, cry and throw things and generally have a tantrum.

Even before the nightmare rollercoaster that TTC has become, I've had some real c**p in my life, not least an abusive first marriage, in fact I think I never had a whole year since I was about 14 without some disaster, death, nightmare or other - if I tried to tell you the whole story you wouldn't believe it - it is like the worst soap-opera fiction ever, except that it is all true.... and FINALLY after years I am settled witha wonderful man I truly love and we're reasonably secure, and I just want a 'normal' family life - nothing crazy or extravagant - just DH, baby & me in our modest little terrace house, doing ordinary normal family things.....why is it so much to ask?????

Sorry for the rant but I'm feeling really sorry for myself - as if you hadn't guessed!!!!!!!!!!!! - and as only a couple of people know about the ET this time around, I can't let off steam to anyone else, so you guys are IT today I'm afraid!

Let all the steam you want!!!! I know, life seems unfair, but it must have it's own ways, doesn't it? I am getting upset every time one of friends announces that they are going to have a baby! And then give birth - still while we had no luck!!!! I am happy for them and mad at the same time - IT WAS MY TURN!!!!! Or even worse, they say they are going to start trying for baby now and the next time you see them they have a bump! It is not fair!!!!!

(Sorry, it is your day to be angry Fairy Elephant.... Just can't hold myself sometimes....)

You are right, it really isn't fair! Like you, I want to shout 'BUT IT'S MY TURN' every time someone announces. And I get SO MAD at people who get PG 'by accident' - Don't they know how difficult it is to do it by accident? How precise the timing has to be? How many factors are aginst it? Sometimes I wish I believed in God - then I would have someone to blame & rant against at times like this......

My best mate has been kind and warned me that they are going to start TTC their 2nd in January. Whilst I am glad that she 'gave me notice' as it were, it also rubs it in a bit, as her LO is 27 months now, and we started TTC way before her in the first place!!!!!!!!!

I have a friend who keeps telling me (almost every time I see her) that one of her friends from school has been trying for more than 3 years and now are going for IVF. That is really a peep talk!

(Well, no one of our friends or relatives know that we are trying, so she just keeps talking, every time conversation turns to babies, which seems every single time I see her, and it is not my fault!!!!)
