I dont think what you are feeling is at all strange, and it is good to know exactly what we are letting ourselves in for!!! Our DS is 5 1/2 now, and we are 'getting our lives back' and a new baby would have a real impact in our lives, in fact probably more so than the first time, because now we would have the active social life and school for a 5 year old to figure into our lives as well as the chaos that a newborn brings!!!!!!!!! But we figure that the love and completeness that another little one will bring will more than outweigh this and hopefully enrich our lives further.

Don't worry!!! I am sure your son would like a sibling! I think boys become rather protective of the younger ones and take care of them. My brother basically raised my sister. I couldn't be bothered - I spent all my time buried in books (I was 6!)!!!

How others are feeling today? Are we getting any more BFPs?.. I am not feeling very positive about our success. I am on cd23/28, AF due Sunday/Monday and I have a friend coming for a long weekend to visit, so probably won't be able to test until she leaves. We will be going for a walk in Lake district (I am not one for hiking - any know very easy walks around there?...) and maybe something to visit around here. Don't know this area myself yet, only been here just over 2 months...

I bought Wii this weekend and I am loving it!!! Played so much, taht could barely use my arm today! Now just need to get the Wii Fit!

I had a surprise this evening when going for my 3 monthly smear. I was chatting to my consultant (whilst he was doing my smear :D ) about how our appointment with the fertility doc had gone. I told him that I have to lose weight before I can get any help. (even going private you have to have a certain BMI)

He said that whilst he understands that overweight women have a better chance of getting pg if they lose weight, he doesn't really like the fact that women like me, who have been this shape and weight for some time and have fallen pg naturally whilst this size and shape are being told that they now have to lose weight in order to get help. I didn't know what to say!

He said its like telling women that they have to be a certain shape, weight and size before they can become mothers.
Usually you don't hear personal opinions from consultants, just medical facts.

I have to say though, he is a lovely fella.

Also as its been 2 years since surgery, if this smear comes back clear I can now progress to 6 monthly smear instead of 3 monthly ones. That is for a further 5 years.

Now all we need is a BFP.........

That is nice to hear! More doctors like this. Not the ones I had so far - "oh, you can't walk with the pain in the hip - take some ibuprofen. It didn't help? How it didn't help? Did you take 2 at once? Oh, you did... Well, then I can't really help you."

I am glad that at least some of them are decent people!!!!! Now, where do I find one when the need comes?...

    Hiya peeps!

Can I have a bit of a moan today????!!!! :o

I'm now on CD 23 and feeling really crappy! I keep waking up with a headache, my boobs are killing me and I seem to have turned into a right mardy so and so!!!!!!! Temp has been high for around 6 days or so and last night I felt sooooo tired even though I'd only been back at work for one day...

I'm really not used to all of these PMT symptoms as I had the mirena coil in up until April...

    End of moan!!!!

Oh, may we be having a BFP in a few days?... It sounds like the moan others used to do before they came back with BFPs!!!! (Sorry, don't want to get your hopes up, but I feel just the same as last month and I don't even have a hope of BFP in near future, so I am just waiting for others...)

I am going to try that myself, I mean waiting, - but I am pretty sure AF will be paying me a visit this weekend, when we will be out and about in the hills!!!! (I can have a very painful AF, usually around 8 hours after the start, so if I am not in bed sleeping, I am taking the strongest painkillers just to function, not much fun when you are at work or out an about, and ibuprofen or paracetamol are like camomile tea - no use!)

I totally know where you are coming from.
Hubby and I have been trying for 4 years with 2 mc's. Currently I'm losing weight to go on the IVF waiting list (if it doesn't happen naturally whilst we are waiting) and I still get times like this! :D

If we have had a particularly nice weekend together I say to him...."Are we sure we want to bring another person into this relationship who is going to put a stop these me & you times?" :rotfl:

But then other times I crave a baby so bad.

    Hi Shelly,

I know EXACTLY how you feel! I say the same things to my DH - but then I get other times when I cry for hours for the LO's we lost, and when I get to spend time with best mate and my Godson I know what I am missing out on. I can't believe I actually WANT to change nappies and deal with toddler tantrums - but there it is - Mother Nature has a lot to answer for!!!!!

Good luck with the weight loss & IVF,
