  • :j Woohoo I got a call last Wednesday to tell me I had been selected for the Clear Blue clinical evaluation, my letter arrived on Friday and was signed and sent back on Saturday. Anyone else been selected? If so, how long did you wait until your kit arrived?

Congrats to all the BFP's :D

  • 'Morning all!

Well, now I am officially PUPO! (Pregnant Until Proven Otherwise!!!!!).

One out of three of the frozen Embies thawed succesfully and was implanted on Sat at midday.

DH is really positive (although he was a little disappointed that there weren't 2 as he really likes the idea of twins! - Yes, I am sure he is mad...LOL!), but I am trying not to get my hopes too high, as I don't know if I can cope with another disappointment or nightmare like the last time. So I'm just trying to look after myself a little more carefully (no alcohol, limit the caffeine & make sure I get plenty of fruit & veg and take my PG vits). Even if we get a +PG test, this time I won't really believe it until we get a scan. Still can't help daydreaming a bit about the "what if" though. This is going to be the longest 2 weeks of my life (and I thought that the last time!!!!!!!!).

    Have a good week everyone,

I got selected too! I posted earlier in the thread but no-one replied so I thought no-one else had bothered applying.
I sent my consent form back on the 2nd Aug and haven't received anything as yet.

    Hello

Someone told me that it was really expensive to have IVF treatment even on NHS. Is this true please?

    Thanks!

    Hi all

Been on hols, so catching up - congrats to all those with BFPs  :j I'm still waiting for first AF after coming off Prostap injections (last one was about 6 weeks ago), so hoping it'll start soon. In the meantime, we're BDing every 3 days - apart from when we were on hols as it was impossible with a hyperactive 9 year old in the same room  :rotfl:

I did have a few queasy moments on hols but I think that was more to do with the heat and also been having strange belly aches, but I think that was more to do with the 'Faroh's Revenge' even so, I still did the "I wonder..." routine :o

Anyways, good luck to you all and lots of baby dust/glue etc.

Fairy Elephant what wonderful news for you!

If you don't mind me asking, what sort of time scale have you had? (when did you start ttc, when did you get referred for further testing....)

Best of luck, hopefully the hardest bit is all over now.

Welcome to the gang linz, and Sunny Saver as far as I know IVF on the NHS is free, but limited to a certain amount of goes (varying area to area) and of course you have to wait... But I may be misinformed. Others who have got that far will fill you in with more details I'm sure.
Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o :o

jiblets is right. Your first go is free on NHS. I recently asked my fertility doctor how much we should expect to pay privately for IVF if our free NHS try fails. He said £3000.
I have no idea if that is dependant on where you live or not.

Edit to add~ My fertility doc said at the moment you get 1 free go on NHS but its being pushed that that should rise to 2 free go's.

The NICE guidelines currently say 3 goes - but most PCTs ignore that. The problem is the money isn't ringfenced, so if budgets are cut then who do you choose - cancer or infertility?
