Feeling a bit fed up as everything seems to be going so slowly, except my biological clock, which seems to be ticking faster by the minute ! and i don't feel as if we have the time to 'sit about waiting' for appointments, tests etc.
Do I know what you mean nottslass!?!!!!!
I was just thinking yesterday that this year seems to be whizzing past so fast, but every day of TTC - OV testing, waiting for appts, waiting for the clinic to call back etc etc seems to drag on forever. It's very weird.
Well, I 'invested' in the Clearblue Digitals OV tests (£23 for 7 tests - eeekkk!) but now it's CD14 and nothing yet. Now I'm waiting - agaon! - for the clinic to call me back. They said if nothing showed by today then they would think about 'taking control' of my cycle to make me OV. I'm still not sure I understand how they can do that at this point in the cycle, but I'm sure it will all become clear - if they ever ring me back that is!!! My 'named nurse' is absolutely lovely, but since the clinic moved and combined with the NHS one into a bigger site, I find that they are nightmare to get hold of - I think they are trying to get by with less staff and everyone is too busy now, which really annoys me as I'm paying a small fortune for this treatment and think I deserve better!
Sorry if that sounded ratty - I am on a very short fuse nowadays, having to consciously try not to lose my temper or burst into tears all the time at the slightest thing, and getting all worked up over nothing. I never thought it would affect me so much, but I can't get it out of my head that August 16 would have been my due date if everything had worked out. Poor old DH gets the brunt of it and he is very patient most of the time, bless him, but it's a relief to come on here sometimes and let it all out!
Hugs, dust & glue to everyone, and thanks for being there.

No,not eligible for NHS treatment as over the age of 39 and I have 2 children aged 21 & 6.I know some of you may be thinking "she should be grateful for whats she's got" If only it was as simple as that - the longing and disappointment each month never gets any easier !!
ICSI will cost about 5k (gulp !!)0 -
5k- crazy isnt it. I dont think anyone on here would comment anything like what you think- the longing and desperation is the same for everyone.
I take it you're doing the lotto every week! Seriously, absolute best of luck and keep us posted.

ClaireLR I have bought the same from ebay. i used the normal sensitivty last month and I they didn't detect me ovulating. I have brought the higher sensitivity ones in the hope of detecting this month. If anyone has more experience of these sticks be grateful for the stories.0

Also, does anyone use a thermometer? Does anyone find this useful? ThanksSometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -

Hi Clare
This is my 3 cycle of ttc but only my second month of using a thermometer so just trying to get to grips with it really!! I 'think' I ovulated last cycle as my temp went up quite a bit overnight and stayed higher for a few days afterwards but need to keep an eye on what happens for a few months I think to discover a real pattern...
Just ordered a copy of 'Taking Charge of your fertility' too to see if there is anything else I can do to improve our chances...
Cheers
Kathy p.s Would be interested to hear other people's experiences with this too...0 -

they did mention some tablets they could give to try and improve it.
ICSI- are you going to go ahead with it? What was your 1st appointment for? I had laparoscopy and Oh has had 2 sperm tests.
I am nervous and excited and feel so rubbish on my OH he is 6 foot 5, a real "mans man", he has given up smoking though 5 wks ago so am hoping this will help.
hi I would consider putting him on zinc and folic acid, it's reported to improve sperm count and make them faster to boot! Wortha try xxxxxxx£200 saved for baby things :T0 -
Claire the 10mlu are the best!!!
Well update from me, i am now almost 50% convinced I didnt have a period at all, but rather bleeding from my kidneys! I am off to the doctors in a while to put this to him. It all makes sense to me now if thats what it was.
I had another blood test today to check my hcg levels but they said it would take 2 days, and thats about all I've got to report!
Was back at the hospital last night, it's just like having a moneysaving social life!! You get to watch tv and get free heat xxxxxx£200 saved for baby things :T0 -

The food sucks though :rotfl:
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you! It's agonising waiting for the blood results - you'd think in this day and age they could do it quicker than 2 days!!
I've found a link on ebay (the same person I bought stuff from before) for 20 ov tests, 10 (10miu) pg tests and 1 digital thermometer for £8.99 + £3.99 P&P, does this sound cheap or could I get it cheaper somewhere else?
Kathy I'd be really interested to know what you think of the book (or anyone else that may have read it!)Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0
