I am now 10 days late and still no sign of AF. I took another test this morning but it's still negative. I would normally take this as red but I've had lots of stomach cramps, nausea, feeling extremely hungry all day and dizzy spells. I know there's something not right but shouldn't I have had a positive test by now. My doctor advised me to test again at this stage which I have done. I think I'll go to the Family Planning Clinic tonight because I feel more comfortable with them. Just wondering is other people had experienced this sort of thing.

Hi Shell,
Really pleased to hear you got some great advice.
As for the exercise, that is what my doc told me when i said i was worrying about my weight and we were TTC --- just move more--- was his recommendation. Don't worry about the food so much, just the exercise.
He said he couldnt prescribe me anything (i too was thinking Xenical) because we were talking babies.
Maybe we should start a little weight loss group with in the thread, as there are a few of us trying??
On my front, no AF as yet, CD35 today. Trying to hold out until the weekend to see if AF shows and at hubby's request.

Had the doctors appointment today to discuss what to do now we've been TTC for 12 months. I came off the pill beginning of July last year and my cycles have been:
28 days (yay, thought they'd gone back to 'normal' straight away lol)
46 days
74 days
80 days
44 days
53 days
I'm now on CD46 of this one.
During this time, urine and saliva ovulation tests haven't really showed that I've ovulated so just been BD'ing every 2-3 days throughout.
I must say, for the first 6 months every time I was 'late' I had a lot of symptoms similar to pregnancy, each time getting a negative test result and wondering if it's just not showing yet, but now not so much as I've got used to the fact it will take a while and am more patient each month.
Anyway, doctor said this random cycle definitely is worrying with regards to ovulation and being able to determine when or if I did ovulate. He has now prescribed 2 rounds of Clomid, to be started on CD2 so just got to wait for my next AF whenever that may be.
Also, is sending OH for semen analysis just to check that out too. Apparently our local lab only accepts samples on a Weds afternoon, which will be difficult to arrange that with his work, but Dr said call them to see if he can go any other time. I told OH all the advice I read on here so far: The sample MUST get to them asap and be kept at body temp and insist it gets tested immediately so it doesn't cool down. We don't live far from the hospital but parking outside is a nightmare and will lose precious minutes, plus I told him do a reccy of the hospital and find out where he has to take it to beforehand so not losing time wandering around looking for the lab. He said he might try and 'perform' in a loo on site at the hospital but is worried about being disturbed by someone waiting to use the one cubicle they have in mens toilets!
If after the 2 cycles of Clomid haven't produced any results, then next step is the fertility clinic for me to get my insides checked out. At least we are now moving forward after these 12 months of TTC naturally.0 -

Oh dear lord! Started my little excercise routine today and I'm knackered :rotfl: I started off by warming up on the Wii fit then I done 20 minutes on the treadmill going from normal walking pace to a brisk walk. Then went on the bike but that didn't agree with meThen done 5 mins total on the elliptical trainer.
Its better than the nothing I have been doing but its very early days yet :T:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Shelly - thats brilliant for your first time, i try and do 5 mins on my cross trainer and i cant breathe! never mind do anything other exercise for about 30 mins!

I know how you feel Shelly.
I have been walking to work the past few weeks about 3 or 4 days of the week and my calves never seem to recover. They are always sore!!!0 -

Hi Honeypop
The hospital i had to go to for my semen analysis is a good 45min drive from us so i called the lab and they booked me the 'andrology room' so i could do the sample on site. All a bit clinical but at least there was no panic about keeping it warm etc or being arrested for indecency in a public place! Maybe suggest your OH give the lab a call and see if there's somewhere on site. Also i was told to abstain for 3 days beforehand but not more than 7 to get best results.
We just got our test results back, DW's scan shows she has PCOS which explains the very random cycle but blood tests show she is ovulating which is great but like you we've no idea what day it might be! Have bought a bumper lot of OV sticks for her to use which should hopefully help and we'll just have to keep going with the 2-3 day activity. My results were borderline, with all normal apart from morphology at 3% worse than the normal limit - so looks like i'll be giving up the booze for a bit then... However Doctor said there's no reason we can't conceive naturally and is referring us to the fertility specialist :T for further tests unless we get lucky in the meantime.
Hope the Clomid works, friends have just had a baby girl who was conceived on 3rd cycle of Clomid so we know it can work!0 -
Wow, well lots to catch up on since I last checked in on Friday!
So like I said last week I knew I wasn't pg so Friday night I had a night out with a good friend who I have known since I was about 5, had a few drinks out and a really good time.
Saturday I was going to my best friend's for a BBQ and then we were all out into town. So I knew Murphy's law would kick in, and sure enough I headed to the loos in the club and AF had arrived! I knew that was going to happen though so I had gone prepared! So my cycle was 45 days! And am back on CD3 now.
I'm quite looking forward to trying again this month, and hoping that if i don't get that BFP that maybe the cycle will at least be a bit shorter. I will keep you posted though.

Thanks girls for the encouragement.
I have just spoken to a cousin to tell her the news and she recommended a couple of fitness DVD's to me.
I'm going to get a couple and alternate between the DVD's and the routine I done this morning......I know what I'm like, if I don't get a variation I'll get bored.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Thanks Meltrix, will get him to ask if he can do it anywhere on site, just assumed that he'd have to do it elsewhere! Doc told him to abstain for 5 days, this will be the hard part lol.
Was wondering if they would test me for PCOS due to random cycle, but apparently I am to try 2 cycles of Clomid first, which at least is something to help me.
Good news that your wife is actually OV'ing, I share her pain on the random cycle! Doing the urine ov tests was getting tedious for me, especially having to do it between certain hours and letting it get room temp before testing, as I am at work the hours it says to test and nowhere to let a sample get to room temp without someone wondering what on earth I'm doing!! Got a saliva one in the end which is much better, can do it anywhere and no faffing around.0
