    morning all

hope everyone had a good weekend.

i am on CD34 today. i did two tests over the weekend which were BFN, as i was hoping my cycle had gone back to 30 days this month.

last month AF arrived on CD34 so i guess today is the day i should see AF, but who knows. i have had a few twinges here and there over the that four or fives days making me think AF was on her way, but not yet.
fingers crossed she doesn't surface today.

even though when i did the tests i knew in my heart they would be N, it still really hurt.

what an emotional rollercoaster this all is!!!

If you changed jobs recently was the maternity pay not in the contract?

You don't sound rude! And no, maternity pay was not mentioned in the contract. I recieved and 'offer support' pack, which details allthe sick pay, overtime, drievance, etc, but not a word about the maternity pay. I can't really ask the HR lady (there is only one), as that would rise suspicions and I don't want it. Especially, as we were trying before for about 7 months with no luck. As soon as you tell someone that you are ttc, they expect you to announce next day that you are pregnant!

In my previous job they paid you full pay for 23 weeks and then SMP for the the remaining 16 weeks. I suspect that it will be just SMP - otherwise they would obviously put it in the offer to attract me, wouldn't they? I am 28, married - so they should expect that in a near future I will have babies!

Full pay for 23 weeks lucky thing lol.

All companys seem to be different, mine is 6 weeks on 90% pay, then a further 33 weeks of £130 per week.

Is there anyone in your workplace that has had kids and come back? Or you could ask HR person, and just say its for the future. Other than that no advice i'm afraid!

Thanks for advice! My friends was working for another company in this industry and she had the same as my previous job. All I can say - the specialists in our field are short and I had 2 offers when I needed to change the job. One of the companies gave me the job with less than a half an hour interview and basically asking no questions about my work or me!!!!
I still have the second offer standing 'in case I don't like it here' - I haven't asked for it, the guy who interviewd asked me if I mind if he calls me in few months time 'to see how things are going'!!!!
Anyway - there is a lady who I thnkg has a baby under 1 year old, but people here are not very friendly and I have bearly talking to anyone in the last 4 weeks!!! I keep talking with the receptionist (she must be in her late 50s-60s), very nice lady, but how do I bring it our in the conversation!!!! The lady with the baby says hi and smiles when we meet up in the kitchen or corridor, but then just goes away as fast as she can! I don't want to make my position worse off by asking about maternity, as I am here only few weeks so far.... There is no probation or anything, but I had to pass security clearance. They could have fired me with 1 week's notice if I didn't, but the clearance arived couple of weeks ago.
Oh well, I'll need to stalk the new mum and follow her when she goes for a drink!!!

Just to say that if you come off your pill now and don't want to risk falling pg until the new year then I'd advise using protection.
Your body might not take as long as you might think to get back to normal, it just might surprise you!

I became pg in my second month of trying and I had been on the pill for 15 years+. Also MFD has announced a pos this week and she was only in her second month too.

    HTH and good luck

    Thanks,

we use extra protection anyhow, so hoping no accidents happen with them. :rotfl:
hopefully will be chatting to DH tomorrow night as he is finishing work early, so we will see

    thanks again

I would say give a ring to gp. I hope you are pg, but if not, you would want to be checked as it is turning out to be a very long period!!!! I am sure they could just do a blood test or a scan to confirm everything is ok.

I've got PCOS + AF used to be irregular, since I stopped taking the pill in January they've been on time and I was hoping that would last but I guess it's not.

I used to take the pill when I was younger to try and regulate them, when I came off they stayed regular for about 2-3 months, but now I wouldn't think twice about not having a period for about 10+ months. Since being on Metformin though, I've managed to bring my periods down to about 2 month cycles, although I've not had one yet and it's been about 3 months, I don't 'feel' pregnant though, although I have no idea how that's supposed to feel lol
I really do feel for you Jvic, I hope it is a BFP for you, but just don't get your hopes up, I've been there myself, as many of us have, and I know how much it can hurt.

    Hi everyone.

Update for you. (I'll try to keep it short :D )

Went to see fertility specialist today and it went really well.
He said that taking all things into account (4 yrs TTC, 2 losses & cervical cancer) he wants us to get on the IVF waiting list immediately but we can't because I have to lose weight first. He's giving me 6 months to lose the weight and obviously we keep TTC in that time. Then when I have lost enough I am to call him to go on the waiting list which is 6 months.

He also wants us to have a few repeat tests done just to get up to date results. I think he was also I little worried when I said my most recent cycles were 31 and 38 days long. He said if a cycle is over 34 days long it *might* indicate there has been no ovulation that month.

He's also putting us back in touch with a specialist we have seen before who told us about all the dangers of a pregnancy after my type of surgery. ( He really scared me, I had serious second thoughts about carrying on TTC after seeing him) He wants us to make a proper plan because in my situation my cervix has to be monitored as soon as I get a pos.

Even after all that and we make it to the top of the list he said there is a very small chance that NHS funding won't be given  If we are faced with that it is £4000 to go private.

So bottom line is as soon as I can get my weight down to the acceptable BMI we can be put on the list! :T
I know I can do it, I lost 3 stones to get married so now I have a goal again......bring it on!! :rotfl:

Oh and I just remembered for those of you that might need help in the future as I do. He said at the moment on the NHS waiting lists are 6 months for IVF ( I think that can vary from area to area) and they will only fund one cycle. Apparently the government are under pressure to put more money into fertility which will not only cut waiting lists but also provide 2 free cycles. He said if I take the 6 months to lose weight then the waiting list is 6 months we might get the times right and have funding for 2 free cycles.
I certainly hope that I can knuckle down and lose the weight quicker than 6 months. I don't want to hang about on the off chance I will get 2 cycles free.

Sorry that turned out so long! :rotfl:
