hiya,
in prep for TTC i am looking to come off the pill shortly, i was just wondering if anyone had any info on how quickly i am likely to start having proper periods??
TIA
Hi pebbles, I'm afraid everyone on here has had different experiences regarding coming off the pill. You'll just have to wait it out and see. My periods settled into a regular cycle almost straight away, but my hormones gave me other symptoms such as sore boobs for several months.
Good luck!Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0 -

Yeah, mine seem to have snapped back quickly although I'm not sure if I can quite comment yet as have only had one proper AF since coming off the pill (i.e. had first typical period after stopping pill and then had pill free month and then had normal AF) but this next month could be different??? If I take it as they are regular then I will be fertile between 10th to 15th July according to the online ovulation calculator, which covers the period of mine and OH birthdays - typically a good time for getting BD in!!! I'm wondering whether this could be the month...0 -
ok thanks ladies, will have a chat with my DH, i was wanting to come off now so we could BD when we go on hol in sept, but he has now said he wasnt to wait until new year....
but i suppose that even if i do come off now it will give my body chance to get back to normal.
plus we have some issues with MIL regarding us having kids, i know the min that i announced i was pregnant she would be buying things (even before 12 wks) and would pester me like mad everyday, grab tummy everytime she saw me, we know this as she has just done it with SIL.
I dont come from a touchy feely family so this would drive me crazy! :rotfl:
thanks again, and good luck to everyonePlease be nice to all moneysavers!

Pebbles, I have a MIL that can kill us with kindness too. I'm hoping that once we have a baby, she can focus the good wishes that way and we won't feel that we have to spend all our time deflecting the kindness. I know it sounds ever so ungrateful, but my husband and I are independent as far as we can help it, and we like it that way. We find that a quiet, firm word about the way we'd like things tends to work quite well. Mostly....Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0

hiya,
mine doesnt do so much killing with kindness, as blatant suffocation and ignoring anything said to her! we too like you are grateful for her help, she just cant help it IYSWIM and doesnt know when to stop. but hey - ho, i suppose we will have to see what happens.
the only things that worry me about us having children is how not just she, but her sisters will react also, they tried to take over our wedding and i didnt enjoy the day at all as she kept saying how SHE thought things could be going, she even invited people without telling us and arranged for separate tea/coffee in the reception breaks for them  , sorry getting off track here! Please be nice to all moneysavers!

Hello, ladies. I used to be on this thread when it first started as we were trying... Then circumstances changed and we decided to wait for a bit (selling the house, moving to new area, new job...) Well, all of that is sorted now and we are back in the game!!! (we are just looking for a new house in a new area)
I haven't been on the pill since August last year and my periods are regular (28 days). I started taking my temp since November last year and all seems fine, except my ovulation is rather later - day 17-18. We had no luck when trying before, but then we lived separately for most of the week. It is all different now - I lost a bit of weight (8 kg!!!), would like to loose some more, but not willing to take any drastic diets. Well,I hope it won't take us too long!
Anyway - do any of you know how can I find out the maternity pay at work without raising suspicions? I received all info about sick pay and overtime, but I can't find any info on maternity.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
If you changed jobs recently was the maternity pay not in the contract?Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.

Just to say that if you come off your pill now and don't want to risk falling pg until the new year then I'd advise using protection.
Your body might not take as long as you might think to get back to normal, it just might surprise you!
I became pg in my second month of trying and I had been on the pill for 15 years+. Also MFD has announced a pos this week and she was only in her second month too.
HTH and good luck:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
