You are probably aware of this but PCOS can cause false surges of LH, which may not mean ovulation. As the kits only test for LH levels it may mislead you into thinking ovulation has occured for that cycle. Charting BBT would tell you retrospectivly if it had ( . . therefore saving you some money on OV sticks)
Thanks RiaAnn, i hadn't realised that - does that mean the saliva kit that someone mentioned is also likely to give a false reading if you've PCOS?
I can see i have an awful lot more reading to do, this whole TTC business can be v confusing... alternatively we could just forget the whole trying to predict OV and just BD every 2 days :j

Morning peeps,
CD20 and sooo impatient to test lol, can you tell i'm a newbie at this waiting game!?! Someone put me out of my misery and tell me the earliest day I can test?! lol
Really hormonal this month, one minute insanely angry and the next bawling my eyes out, sigh, I'm trying not to get my hopes up though, something in my head is telling me it's not going to be the month for me.

Hi all. Taking hubby to the hospital in a moment to drop in his "specimen". I've actually got myself nervous. I think it's because he gets wound up quite easily and it's wound up on me. I felt fine for my day 21 test. Oh well, wish us luck!Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0

Well, I was throwing up last night, I refuse to let my mind wander though because of all the times I've got my hopes up and have been hurt. I haven't seen AF for about 3 months now, which isn't all that unusual for me, apart from the fact that they started coming every 2 months. I don't know whether to get a test or not just to see. I certainly feel different, but my body has played tricks on me before, so I don't know what to do. I think I'd prefer to wonder wether I was PG or not, rather that be told a flat out no againPigsback - 500 points, Happyfly - £37.92, Juicy Brains - £1.25, Valued Opinions - Zilch, Casback Rewards - £2.78

i bought a test, and there is an extremely faint line, so not sure.... i was too impatient really, as too early to test, will have to try on friday. that will be ok with one of the early type tests.

Hi haydav39 - I was nauseous from about a week before AF was due (currently 5 1/2 weeks pg) saw the midwife today and she said that some people are just like that  It could be a symptom but the girls on here will tell you that it is easy to symptom spot and convince yourself you are pg every cycle.
Just thought I would pop back and tell everyone that I went to see the midwife today and basically she said that I was too early to be properly 'booked' (registered and blood tests etc) and that I have to go back at about 8 weeks.
When I rang the surgery I told them I was only 4 1/2 weeks and asked what I needed to do and the receptionist told me I had to go in and see the midwife!!
Anyway - just a pointer for those of you who are TTC a first baby - check (thoroughly) whether you actually need to go into the docs before 8 weeks (MW said she would normally want to see you when you had missed 2 AF)...and be aware that the apppointment lasts an hour!!!
Oh - and I mentioned my fluttery heart - MW sent me straight through to the doc who is sending me for an ECG _pale_please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Well good luck to you. If you read a few pages back you will see posts form ladies who have noted conversations with pg test manufacturers and dr's who both say that a line is a line, faint or not. So if there is a faint line there is a very good chance you are pg.
If it were me it'd wait as long as possible (which to be honest would not be very long as I have no patience whatsoever!) and test again first thing in the morning. Good luck!!!0 -

I also remind myself that thanks to the advances in modern technology those of us TTC with PCOS are much more likely to conceive than a generation ago. No, you won't get flamed.. not by me anywayI know what you mean, we have a lot more to help us these days, it's just so frustrating when you seem to be getting no where. Especially when friends and family keep announcing their pregnancies, and you're just waiting for it to be your turn
