VK, I've heard that it could do, there's quite a few alternatives that can help. I've also heard that yoga/pilates can help for the same reasons.Pigsback - 500 points, Happyfly - £37.92, Juicy Brains - £1.25, Valued Opinions - Zilch, Casback Rewards - £2.78

Remember to take folic acid, and pray that falling pg is as easy as ppl let you think.
Not everyone gets pg on the first month off the pill, some ppl never manage it at all, and on your current path you will find you become much more aware of how many TTC couples are out there, but it's something that isn't mentioned very often in the real world, as it is still almost taboo to talk about it.
Good Luck, I wish you well, yes, babies are frightening, but once you work out what makes them stop crying (food, getting rid of wind or poo, sleep or a combi of the aforementioned ) they are fine!Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

aww I remember feeling like that! we decided on our 3rd wedding anniversary to start trying, so I had a few months off the pill- we were all nervous for a while, and were expecting it to happen right away... after a few months we stopped thinking about it so much, I quit my job, we moved an hour away from my family, and bingo, just when we had starting wondering if it would be sensible to hold off a while!!
my son is 4.5 now and I can't understand what on earth we did before he was around as he fills our life right to the brim.0 -
Hi there
We've just been through the same thing and I'm now pregnant. Slightly different position as we already have 2 boys age 5 and 4 but I have umed and ahed so much as to whether our family was complete and agonised over all the practicalities. We've been trying since feb and i found out yesterday - I'm still a little shocked tbh. But, I also feel excited and happy. You can worry about things too much in my opinion.
You will be a good mum - of course you will!
Just a small tip thought - dont be quick to judge other parents (apart from the horrible ones lol). Before I had my first I was full of ideas about what was right, what was wrong and what kind of parent I'd be. However, 2 (completely different!) children down the line I will admit that I've done things that I frowned on previously. My second had a (lifesaving!) dummy, I occasionally take them to McDonalds and we used controlled crying with my first (after a year of no sleep!) when i'd previously been convinced it was cruel! Oh, and my idea of only buying them quality wooden toys and building them a nest egg instead of buying plastic bits of tat quickly went out of the window too! We now have a houseful of plastic tat! :rotfl:
And, I had my first when I was 20, my second at 21. I'm glad I'm a young mum and think i do a pretty good job. Lots of my older friends who are now thinking of having babies come to me for advice as they can be a little set in their ways. Age aint nothing but a number - its whats inside that counts!
Good luck - oh and be prepared for it to take a few goes. After my 2 happy accidents I thought getting preg would be a doddle - but its taken 4 months of trying and can take alot longer.

Personally I think an open mind (which you seem to have) is ideal!
I would be more worried if you had a complete picture in your mind of how you will cope, what the baby will be like etc etc, because invariably the reality will be very different!!
You just can't make an accurate assessment of how it will be until he/she is here as we are all so different, and when they are here you just get on with it through necessity!
Good luck with ttc.0 -

I meant to mention that too! You will be shocked at how your 'standards' drop when you actually have a little one! Not major standards of course, but you do stop sweating the small stuff and quickly realise it is pretty much only childless people who worry about some things!0 -
can honestly say before my daughter (sienna 5 Months) was born i was petrified but prepared for the worst up 10 times a night never stops crying baby
i was soooo lucky she sleeps through 9/10 nights will go down about 9:30 and wake about 8 we have just started weening her and she hasn't turned her nose up at anything.
But i can still say i'm scared because i want to wrap her up in cotton wool so she stays perfect but i guess thats love0 -
