Anyway, the cramping type feeling seems to have gone but now my nipples feel very strange. I only noticed it yesterday when my seatbelt rubbed over and I noticed they felt a bit tender. It's not my whole breast, just if you touch or gently squeeze the nipple. My breasts haven't gone larger or anything, and when I have usually been approaching AF I tend to get quite sore all over, if you understand what I mean.

When I came off the pill and whenever my period is later I get what I call "permanent nipples". They stick out all day long, no matter how warm it is -even in the bath. They're sore to touch and are even sore inside my bra. This lasted for 3 months when I first came off the pill (at least my husband loved it!). So my point is, by all means do a test when your period is due if this is unusual for you and see what it says, but bear in mind that it can just happen because hormones are up in the air.

can acupunture help make you pregnant???????

I had chinese herbs and acupuncture leading up to the ivf, and acupuncture for a few sessions after the embryo transfer. I believe it certainly helped me to remain calm, and the ivf worked first time.

Thanks for that. It's put my mind at rest. I know I'm probably looking too far into it, but I guess you can't help it. Now I'm off the pill, I'm in freefall.

    I'll see how things progress...

I know how you feel. Last month was my first proper month off the pill and for about 2 weeks I had the sorest boobs about, but unfortunately AF decided to show itself 4 days later than expected. Nice little rollercoaster for me.

Agree that once you are off the pill, you do go into freefall wondering just what all the feelings your body gets actually means.

Is anyone else struggling with hayfever?

I have allergies all year round (hayfever, dust, cats, dogs, ......) and have recently tried to get off the tablets i was on for 10 years (over the counter citrizine 1/2 a tablet a day). Anyway I was using local honey, and trying a homeopathic remedy, after my doctor advised me to try and go cold turkey as I really shouldn't take anti-histamines if I become PG. I managed about a week but now I feel itchy all over, and slightly wheezy. I think I might be allergic to my washing powder, and always have been, just never known because of the meds. I'm going to carry on, as I really want to be off the tablets regardless, but just wonderd if anyone else is suffering.

Yeah I am suffering too. I have decided to take myself off the meds since I am TTC.

I have eczema and that has got worse, along with the wheezing, itching, sneezing etc! Not much fun!!

As far as your washing powder goes have you tried ecover washing liquid? I have that as I am allergic to all biological washing stuff. They use only naturally derived ingredients in it and is better for the environment as well as your skin. I find it really good. They do softener also.

As far as the other sypmtoms go there is a machine you can buy from Lloyds chemists which uses infra red light to stop the production of histamine in your body - much the same as antihistamines stop the production. Except all you do it put the 'prongs' into your nostrils about 2-3 times a day for about 5 minutes. It is meant to be quite effective although I haven't tried it myself. it's not too expensive either - last time I saw them they were half price at £15.

Anyway hope that helps at all!! ;)

Does medication really make that much difference if you're TTC? I only ask because I'm taking tramacet (pain killers), sertraline (happy pills), Strong vitamin B compound and Metformin for my PCOS. Also my OH is taking happy pills as well, would it make a difference if we were off them? We have tried weaning ourselves off them before, but he gets really ratty and horrible and I can't cope with him like that, and I have arthritis and fibromyalgia and end up in a lot of pain and depressed (it gets me down how ill I am when I'm only 20, I can't remember the last time I felt 'normal' :( )

Just thought I'd ask as you lot seem to be good with these things :)

Personally I'd want to not be on the meds when i'm PG, so I'm giving up now just in case! If I were you I would really speak to your GP, and ensure that your meds are safe to be taking if you were to become pregnant as some aren't right for pregnant ladies! But check with your GP, as I'm no expert.

As far as the medinose thing goes - I've got one and I'm going to keep going with it. I'm just really starting to get annoyed with the scratching sneezing and wheezing. I just hope it gets better! I did google allergies and I found a report which stated that the hormonal changes can actually make allergies dissapear. Brilliant - another reason to get pg!

  • Hi girlies, I've only just registered on this site a second ago because this is a great forum and I want to join in! Reading all of your stories has made me feel better about the whole ttc thing. About 6 weeks ago I came home from a trip to India and Thailand, so I was taking anti-malaria pills, and stopped taking my contraceptive pill. Me and my husband have now been trying for only a few weeks and I already feel like I'm going to go mad! After about the second week of trying, I started to feel dizzy and like I was going to black-out, and had a funny 'womb-ache'. It's not painful but I can just feel that it's there if you know what I mean. For the last three weeks I've had so many strange symptoms- dizziness, tiredness, back ache, loads of saliva (gross and weird!), headaches, and pins and needles in my hands and feet- that even my doctor thought I could already be pregnant. Unfortunately, 7 pregnancy tests don't agree! The annoying thing is that I have no idea how long my natural cycle is, so I don't know when I can find out for sure. It's now been five and a half weeks since my last period started, but that could mean nothing as my body is probably really confused, what with the anti-malaria treatment and lack of the pill, which I had been taking for the last 7 years. I definitely need to learn to be more patient!

jedi-girlie - You sound just like me. I came off the pill on or around 22nd June and then had my usual withdrawal bleed for about 5 days, as normal. Since then we've had a fair bit of BD and now I am wondering if I am pregnant already... I have oddly sore nipples, bloated tum, heartburn, twinges, up and down hormonal swings. Who knows? But if it happens, it happens! Gonna give it another week and do a HPT and see what's going on.

    Good luck guys!
