I find making lunches interesting one of the biggest challenges!
So you could do Houmous and dippers (e.g carrot / cucum, pepper etc) and a reduced 'bready' option would be pitta breads chopped up to dip in.

I often do a salad, with bits of meat / saus / cheese chopped in, with some seeds and nuts, grated carrot and all the usual salad bits and bob. Chuck in some olive oil and balsamic.

Home-made soups which I heat up in the winter....

and that's my repetoire done. Following for inspiration too!

Hubby has cous cous 4 days per week for work, with diced pancetta and peppers.

    How about quiche with salad?

Jacket potatoes (especially in winter) with your choice of filling, or pasta salad in summer.

Another NSD today, even tho OH wanted a takeaway -managed to survive on leftovers, freezer stock and ys bread instead, which makes me feel better about the £8.34 spend yday on essentials which saw us go past our grocery challenge limit :( nevermind, will just try not to spend too much more!

Do you add a dressing to the cous-cous? I like the idea but thought it might be a bit dry?!

A few more bits purchased on Saturday, this time from Tesco, for Father's Day lunch so an additional spend of £25.67 (signature already updated) Although this was unplanned spending from the grocery budget it did save on lunch out for the four of us so net effect a HUGE saving. £95 still left in the kitty with only 10 days remaining so feeling vaguely confident so long as we stick the the shopping list on Wednesday for the usual weekly trip to Aldi. Currently cooking for four again as DD is home from uni but tried to stick to our three person budget so chuffed so far. The biggest savings we've been making have been on meals out/takeaways. Although these don't come from the grocery budget, the impact not spending in these areas is definitely having a remarkable impact on my bank balance. Tonight was a classic example, I was exhausted after work and had forgotten to get something out of the freezer this morning so a classic time to reach for the takeaway menus but instead I pulled some sausages out of the freezer and made sausage pasta so there was a saving of twenty quid straight off! Sunday, Monday & tomorrow will be NSD (can't get out tomorrow due to work) so yet more savings. YAY!!! :j

£15-42 Yesterday between Morrisons And Lidl, none of which was desperate, running neighbour to Dr`s again, but got yoghurt and dental stix for dog, 81% choc for me, picked up a few ys items in Morrisons, really no need for any more grocery before end of the month.

OMG - I was writing out a shopping list, and realised I didn't put last weeks spend on my budget.

Last Thursday I spend £70 in Aldi - it was DD's birthday, so bought a few treats and a couple of bottles of booze....

    MUST be better this week.....

    Off to update siggy....

As I seem to have my grocery shopping, hopefully, under control now I was wondering about an internet shopping thread, just checked my Ebay and Amazon to see what deliveries are pending this week,
I do tend to get lured by posts of deals, 1 or 2 mouse clicks and it`s bought, considering starting a thread, but not sure if much interest, could call it, "Do I want it, do I need it, can I afford it" suggestions please.
