Change of plan yesterday, call from friend to pick her up, torrential rain, so agreed to meet her in Lidl, got my veg for weekend, no broccoli in store, no romaine lettuce, forgot to get yoghurt, spent £5-68 and will have to manage with what I have got already.
Do I need it or just want it.

Hello. Things here have gone a little pear shaped so I'm bowing out of this challenge. Will begin again in July though please.

    Hi everyone,

the spends are mounting up. Went to SM today for oil, eggs and cheerse, also came out with 2 packs of chicken reduced from £4 to 99p and 2 packs of sauasges each 79p. Seem rude not to take them, and so into the freezer they go.

    New total £212.64

I am always impressed with the posters who get YS goods for pennies. They don't seem to do that in the sm's round here, unless I am just unlucky or don't go at the right times. However, I have not got a freezer so have to cook or eat stuff straight away.
Any road up, I spent £39.76 on weekly shop yesterday, including a big pack of toilet rolls and a cook-your-own chinese takeway. I am taking the money for the latter from my treats fund.
    Happy Saturday everyone!

  • Hi everyone - I have had a few spends, amounting to £30 odd, have added to my sig. £9.80 of that was a take away - very nice, but really not worth it. Am getting rid of lots of freezer food, due to a change in diet, so am trying to cook for the freezer as I go along. Did a load of broccoli and spinach soup yesterday, Tesco selling 2 (rather small) broccoli for 39p, so grabbed some. Im off to Glastonbury Tuesday until the next Monday (hope it stops bloody raining), and I get all my food included - anything else will be treats that i'm not including - treating it as a holiday as im not having one, but I will as ever be frugal. Have a lovely weekend everyone.
  • Well done all!

We made it!!!!!! :T A good month, with the wind behind us and lots of great deals found...plus lots of motivation from here of course! :j

In our 'July' as of today. :D

NSD yday :) do you count it towards your grocery spend if you go shopping and pay in tesco clubcard vouchers? Technically it didn't cost you anything, right? :)
