Not posted but have been keeping an eye on spending, so far this month £52 so not done too bad. Helps there's only been me st home and I will happily eat out of freezer and LO. I have taken t bags to work for break time and have had a packed lunch every day. It helps there's only a vending machine on site at work. Bought lots of Ald! Special buys and am going to make meals out of them. Want to save a bit extra as have DD graduation coming up and want to be able to push the boat out a bit.Thoughts to all. Mrs D.

Been lured out early this morning by my neighbour being ill, I hate shopping with her, and some Asda bargains I wanted a look see.
Bought 6 bottles of shower gel 20p a bottle, broccoli I didn`t get the other day and some reduced cornish potatoes for a treat, into B&M not got wha t I wanted but picked up a couple of items for the garden, not counting those, into Tesco, I like Llansamlet all the stores are close together, Still didn`t get what I wanted in there, but picked up ,y.s. chicken, pork chops, fish, chorizo, and a pot of parsley, plus jar of apple sauce and some romaine hearts.Do I need it or just want it.0 -
A trip to the butchers and Aldi, plus lunch out with my niece takes me to £138.77.
I'm really pleased and really hope I can spend less than £36.23 in the final 11 days.
Lunch came to £8.34 for the 2 of us (she's 4) but having had a phone call at 3am to say niece number 2 was arriving, I decided not to waste energy preparing lunch for us 2. On top of that excuse, she was so excited about the new arrival that she was much easier to deal with out and about than bouncing off the walls at home
We are saving money on meat by having smaller portions but more vegetables, as well as replacing chicken fillets with on the bone chicken and pork, which are cheaper. :TAugust 2016 GC £249.70/£150
July 2016 GC £114.03/ £120
June 2016 GC £170.09/ £1750 -
So have AWOL for the past few weeks. Lots of little bits of shopping done since I last post.
Spent £52.56 from last posting to date. Total overall is £76.02 - sig has been updated.
Have worked out that I am better doing a meal plan when I am living on my own than when DH is living with me. With the condition that he has and with the fog that he goes through, setting down to a meal plan doesn't always work, but we will persevere on that score.
One week left for June - £23 left, hopefully we should be able to do it.
We are trying to start eating less bread in our diet - any ideas for lunches that are not sandwiches? weekday lunches are easy, as they are leftover dinners from the day before.
Hope that all are OK and all is well.

I find making lunches interesting one of the biggest challenges!
So you could do Houmous and dippers (e.g carrot / cucum, pepper etc) and a reduced 'bready' option would be pitta breads chopped up to dip in.
I often do a salad, with bits of meat / saus / cheese chopped in, with some seeds and nuts, grated carrot and all the usual salad bits and bob. Chuck in some olive oil and balsamic.
Home-made soups which I heat up in the winter....
and that's my repetoire done. Following for inspiration too! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
