Went to do a top-up shop, which cost more than I had anticipated. Didn't help that DH was sneaking things into the trolley. He is feeling very satisfied with himself but I have hidden everything that he bought! Here is what I got :-)

    Auntie A

    Savoy Cabbage: 55 p
    White Potatoes: £1.09
    Mixed Seedless Grapes: £1.69
    Easy Peelers: £1.15
    Iceberg Lettuce: £0.39
    Trimmed Sprouts: £0.99
    Broccoli: £0.37
    Salad Dressing: £0.65
    Cheddar Slices: £1.25
    German Peppered Salami: £0.89
    Cooked Lean Ham: £1.45
    Garlic Sausage: £0.49
    Beef Mince 5% Fat: £2.99
    Passata: £0.35
    Spaghetti: £0.49
    Bakewell Slices: £0.75 (naughty DH!)
Vanilla Chocolate: £1.25 (VERY naughty DH!)
    Benefit Bars: £0.99

    Total: £17.82

    The Land of Frozen

    Smiths Tomato Snaps: £1.00
Milkyway Crispy Rolls: £1.00 (VERY VERY naughty DH)
    Slimming World Meatballs (x2): £6.00
    Slimming World Burgers: £3.00
Muller Light Yoghurts: Free with the purchase of three Slimming World items
    Pork Loin Joint: £5.00

    Total: £16.00

I also went to the Co to look through the yellow labels. I got some raspberries for 50 p; tenderstem broccoli for 50 p, and the bargain of the day, a tray of diced chicken breast for 97 p - that's gone straight in the freezer.

All of this will do us for packed lunches and dinners this week! We will need to top up on bread mid-week but hopefully it will be NSDs for other groceries until next Saturday.

First week not too bad. £58/£200. Freezer, fridge and cupboards still pretty full so next week I'm hoping to just buy bread, milk and f&v.

Hi, Can I be put down for £100 this month - that's for two adults, a teenager and a dog.

I've been to 5 different shops today and have spent the grand total of £31.44, including £1.60 on ys meat that should have cost £16.00!

Another NSD today as I've been working all day. Work ran over (self employed/work from home) BUT instead of reaching for the takeaway menus I baked some salmon fillets and we had that with steamed veg. I also made a tea loaf with store cupboard ingredients. Feeling quite smug even if I'm only on day four lol! We shall see :D

    Evening folks

Spendy day today. Went to butcher and spent £90.72 which is a big dent in my bulk buy fund but definitely necessary

Then £stretch = £3.88 and Mr T = £28.67, so £32.55 out of GC on mainly stock cupboard things such as ground-nut oil, truvia, golden syrup etc, but also some fresh fish, milk and yoghurts.

Need to go to A*di t/m for usual veggies, fruit and pack-ups stuff.

Hope you all have a super Saturday

    4 chicken fillets
    6 chicken thighs
    Pack of pork mince
    Pack of diced beef

My local small Mr T's reduces things to 90% off at around 7:30 most nights, so a couple of times a week I go and see what there is. Mostly it's just bread and veggies and ready made sandwiches that are heavily reduced, but every now and again there'll be some meat or fish - I just got lucky with it last night :)

That's fantastic! I thought I was doing well getting a pack of diced chicken for 97 p! I don't have any large supermarkets near me, which really sucks. I wish I could get the good yellow sticker offers!

  • Can I join please, albeit a few days late! I am aiming for £300 for June (4th - 27th), for myself, DH, 1 house rabbit and 1 hamster. I have checked my receipts over the last few months and the amount of money we are spending on groceries, eating out & takeaways is obscene. So new start from today - grocery spend will include toiletries, cleaning products and animal care expenditure. Takeaways & Eating Out will come out our weekly pocket money of £20 each.

Weekly shop yesterday cost £26.70 but need to call for toilet rolls & kitchen rolls today as too expensive yesterday, will only take enough cash for expected cost.

    Back soon.
