You were in breach of Quidco rules because you bought the insurance in your girlfriends name. I don't see what Quidco have done wrong in declining your claim.

Please clarify which rule was broken. I purchased the breakdown cover with my own funds, which is on record with the merchant (AA).

Is it a case that any purchases made via Quidco can only be for oneself? In which case nobody should do any Xmas present shopping via them :exclamati

Also what happens with any referral commission now? How do I know Quidco haven't just dumped this enquiry and profited?
  • After seeing the £25 Quidco cashback offer highlighted on the moneysavings website I followed the AA link direct from the Quidco website, never used any other referral site, completed membership online, earnings were tracked but then surprise surprise, showed as declined. The only reason I joined the AA via Quidco was the offer of £25 cashback. Feel completely ripped off, along with many others I have heard or read about. Would not have expected a big name corporation like the AA to practice such deceitful means of getting peoples money. And Quidco do not seem to be too worried about chasing it up.... I'm sure they have got their money's worth out of all these referrals.....

Ours declined on the 30/07/07 and I raised a ticket on the same day. It has now been accepted on 07/10/07 and the £25.00 has been added. Took about 9 weeks but the AA have paid up in the end x

Like many other people on here, my Quidco also went from "tracked" to "declined" after about 3 months so the AA will not be getting any future business from me.

However, everyone needs to remember that the AA is one of an increasing number of companies who decide that because you have bought something from them once, they have an automatic right to charge you every subsequent year until you tell you credit card company otherwise. So please all make sure you tell you cc company not to make any further payment to the AA to prevent them from further profiting from you.

The only other problems I have had with Quidco have been for eBay. Anything I have bought for a few pounds have tracked fine; anything for a few hundred have not tracked at all. Strange that.

It seems everyone is having the same problem, small transactions track and pay out fine but as soon as the commission goes over £10 for a transaction quidco seem to fall flat. Everyone should just stop using quidco.
    Lets not use quidco

Have you tried appealing? It seems the poster a couple above appealed and got his/her cashback. I have appealed and the process is nearing conclusion, hopefully in my favour :)

I'm still waiting to hear about my AA appeal, but I have to say I've had no problems with Quidco apart from this. I've had payouts of over £60 on single transactions with no difficulty at all, so I don't think we should impugn Quidco over this.

Seems quidco have told the AA to go as they are no longer on quidco, good for quidco.
  • This still isn't solved, but my AA cashback is now showing as validated, whereas before it hadn't even tracked. This is from an enquiry started in August.
