PKK Yeah we’re hoping to be in for Christmas, though we’re still planning on spending Xmas day at Mum’s, which is what I always do, before going to a friends for games in the evening. I do not get out of my PJs on Christmas Day! :rotfl:

Great stuff about the NYC fund. Bet you’re excited for that! It’s definitely on my bucket list. A colleague got married on Saturday and that’s where they’ve jetted off to this week.

    Hi 1940's,

I would say either you are ovulating or pregnant...

When I had my suspicions I didn't have any pregnancy tests at home so did an ovulation test which like yours, was as dark as the control line. I then got some of the 2 for £2.50 hpt from Tesco and got a v faint positive which was darker when I took the second test 2 days later. I read that ovulation tests can't tell the different between the LH and HCG hormones which is why they can give you a positive when you are pregnant. The test line must be at least as dark as the control line for this to be the case though.

    Good luck!

Ariel, thanks for that! Well I bought a pack of the First Response early detection tests today but I also have some pregnancy test strips which are similar to the OPK strips and that said negative today. (I did both just to see)

    Hello

How is everyone today? I am on countdown to Friday as I am then off work for a month!

Aunty-Pickle we don’t have any family there but we did the South Island a couple of years ago and loved it - this trip will be north island only. It is our final splurge holiday before we have a baby - or it is planned as that if we are lucky enough to have one :)

1940s have you done a pregnancy test yet?! Exciting! I agree you are either ovulating or are pregnant :D

I have only had 2 periods since coming off the pill and they are only 2 days long (not complaining) but it seems strange how when I was younger they used to be over a week! Bodies are strange!

I hope everyone is ok - I so tired at the moment I hate commuting at this time of year!

Wootsit, pregnancy tests are negative so it looks like it was definitely ovulation. We DTD last night just to be sure. :D

I really had no idea you could ovulate so late! Had no symptoms today either and certainly still no sign of AF so fingers crossed!

Sounds good 1940s! Fingers crossed for something catching!

We are both too tired this week for BDing haha getting old! Going to have to put a bit more effort in :)
  • Fingers crossed 1940s.

Who uses the cheap ovulation strips? I bought some with some pregnancy tests and did one tonight - can't figure out how to add a picture but to me I think I see a faint second line? Does this mean I'm about to ovulate?

CCJ - I use the cheap ones, if I test in the morning I always get a faint line, even when OV isn't due because you always have a small amount of hormones in your body. So best to do them at night.

I assume you tested at night because of the time you posted? If so then I would say OV is on the way & due in a few days. Its only OV day when the 2nd line is as dark as the control. If you continue to do then daily you will see it getting darker.
  • Thanks skimper, yeah I tested just before bed. Would you test everyday until it's positive?

Yeah I usually do them daily until I get a strong positive. You can carry on afterwards to see if they start going lighter again so you know when you've OV'd but I don't usually bother.
