CD20 and 5th flashing smiley face this morning on CB digital :( Testing with IC OPK strips in afternoon as well and get a faint line but nothing that resembles a positive.

I have acupuncture tonight, do you think she will be able to tell me anything? Last time I went when AF had come she said that she could tell at my previous session that "things were moving"

I'm really trying to stay positive but struggling. Poor hubby is taking the brunt of it!

Butterfly, sorry you are feeling so low about things also. Bug hugs xx

Thanks Cats for your helpful info!

Angel, thanks again for doing the list x

Clarebell I've had 8 flashing smileys in a row before so don't panic!! I still got the solid one!

Then other months I've had only 1 flashing before the solid...fun fun!

Sorry Butterfly. TTC is very lonely. I think I'd have lost my mind well before now if it wasn't for this thread.

Clarabell I do the Clearblue opks in the afternoon. I know the pack says in the morning but I never got a peak in the morning on them, always in the afternoon. The surge happens in the day so if it's only a short surge the morning after wouldn't catch it. At least they've not turned negative and are still flashing!

I've not been for acupuncture and I've no idea how it works. I very muc fancy it though, but it's so expensive!

Clara I've never had a +ve opk (I used internet cheapies), but temps & bloods seem to suggest I'm oving. It could be a rather short surge, which is difficult to pick up.

Millie I've thought about acupuncture but worried about the cost too. That & the fact I'm rather scared of needles :p

Thanks cats, Millie and Angel - I will maybe start to try them in the afternoon instead then.

I have a healthplan through my work with BHSF which means I can claim 75% of each acupuncture session back. So for every £40 session, I can claim back £30 meaning I only pay £10. My cover is £10 a month through payroll but I can claim for the dentist, optician and various other things including acupuncture up to £350.

I'm not sure if it helps but I started seeing her and after 4 sessions AF appeared. I'm not keen on needles either Angel, but they are so tiny and don't feel like needles. It's nice to relax for 20 mins.

I'm really not having a good day! Spent 1 hour 30 mins sitting at the doctors open surgery to see about unrelated problems then the pharmacist gave me the wrong medication - and I only noticed after i had started taking it !!!

Clara I only have a dental plan, but I might check out some dental plans to see if it's worth at. I checked out some that I'm eligible for through my union (I work in NHS, so work don't offer any) but they don't cover acupuncture. Hope your day improves!

British Acupuncture Council has a list of health insurance/plans that cover acupuncture for anyone that's interested:

Angel, I think you can join BHSF out with a workplace, just different price and levels of cover xx

Acupuncture felt great tonight! She treated me to stimulate ovulation if I haven't already and stuck another few needles in to treat my other ailments lol

Thanks Clara, I'm looking into it atm, as well as researching some acupuncturist in my area. Only issue with the health plans seems to be that you can't claim on any of them until after 13 weeks.

This might be a really silly question, but does acupuncture just help specific issues ttc, like irregular cycles, not oving, pcos?? And for those who have used it, how many sessions did you have?

Butterfly I've been much less stressed not doing any tracking, so maybe worth a go for you.

Feeling a bit more positive today & only had the teeniest, tiniest bit of spotting this morning - long may it continue!!! Thanks for listening to all my woes over the past few days, I think I probably would've lost the plot if it wasn't for everyone on here.

Angel, I could start claiming straight away for acupuncture, dentist, optician. I'm sure the 13 week rule only applies to pre existing medical problems and only affect over night hospital claims. I was confused by this but it was explained well by their customer service dept.

I've only been for 5 sessions and don't really understand it all to be honest. I just googled "acupuncture for fertility" and read a bit about it before deciding to give it a try when someone on here recommended (sorry can't remember who lol)

I'm not sure how they treat certain things but I was treated first off to increase blood flow and hormone balance to bring on AF and now to stimulate ovulation since I've had period. They do different needle patterns depending on where you are on your cycle. If nothing else it relaxes you and helps de stress xx
