Official Trying to Conceive - Thread 13

Skimper We went on holiday to someone listed as having zika virus. We intended to start TTC about 3 months after honeymoon so I spoke to the doctor about it. She said that the advice on zika changed constantly and the place we were going wasn't one of the main areas. However, if you are concerned and you can easily change it I think that would be best. As you would only be worrying and not relax on your holiday anyway!

I've just spoken to them and I just need to send them a letter to say we are ttc and they will change the holiday with no costs. We were going to Mexico and there's been 41 cases confirmed this year but only 1 where we are going. But even so I don't want to chance it. I'll ring the doctor on Tuesday and see what they say.

Can I be moved to the if in doubt please.

PKK - yeh I can see what you mean, the female test you can!!!8217;t really go wrong, pee on a stick to check if a hormone is present, very much like opks and pregnancy tests. Positive if hormone is present, negative if not. I am intrigued to see the results of the male one though, although I can!!!8217;t comment on that right now as I am in my fertile week so nothing is being wasted on that test for him lol! I shall update when he does the test, I would not rule anything out but I think if his results come back as normal I will stress a lot less as TTCing can take healthy couples up to a year, I wish I could just let things do their own thing but I am to much of a worrier!

Skimper - my advice would be if it is going to cause stress and worry change it, anything for less anxiety! Hope you can get it sorted

Boo, the fertility tests are out of stock on Superdrug website. I wonder if it's worth for OH. His swimmers worked fine about 12 years ago (silly teenage pregnancy where he got his gf knocked up in the first month! ended in termination) so I'm confident he doesn't have anything genetically wrong, although I guess quality could have degraded since then. I suspect, though, if there's anything wrong it'll be on my end...

9dpo and zero symptoms so pretty sure this month was a bust. Pretty fed up of it now. We're giving it another month or two and then going to docs to see if anything is going on.

I have no idea what my body is doing! We BD on Sunday morning, and bleeding started and continued when wiping afterwards. This has happened the last few times BDing. However Sunday eve and yesterday morning I then had really bad cramps and back ache and the light bleeding has turned into AF! My cycles have been 40-odd days so I wasn't expecting AF for another 2 weeks. On one hand it is good news, as hopefully this is my cycles going back to 'normal' (as the cycle was 27 days) but on the other hand I have my appointment with the doctor to examine me due to the bleeding on Thursday, so I am thinking she may not be able to do it if AF is visiting!

PKK I can so empathise with your confusion. AF arriving this month after 33 days instead of the usual 45-50 days since I came off the pill has actually really annoyed me instead of giving me a sense of relief that it's going back to normal!

I know that sounds crazy but it makes trying to work out when I'm OV nearly impossible as I don't really get any noticeable symptoms and my app is now just going to be guessing based on assumed average cycles.

We're BDing a good bit anyway and my hubby wants to take a more NTNP approach to the whole thing so we dont stress ourselves out..but I already am because I know my cycles are all over the place...obv not something he has to worry about so he doesn't get it. Also we're on holiday this week and I've avoided alcohol and been in an odd mood the whole time, like I just can't get out of my own head and enjoy myself.

We are really only at the beginning of all this proper TTC journey I know, but we've been together nearly 9 years so it feels like we've been working towards this a lot longer. I really need to try and just wait to see if nature take its course but all the waiting around not knowing whats going to happen next with my body is a nightmare.

PKK are you sure it's AF? Could it potentially be implantation bleeding? Possibly clutching at straws, but you'd be about right in the cycle for it depending on how many days past ovulation Ovia decides your fertile week ends.

Hi all. Unfortunately I am back.
Had bleeding on Saturday and ended up in the out of hours on Sunday morning. Had a scan this morning and we!!!8217;ve suffered a miscarriage. Absolutely devastated but it is what is. Onwards and upwards I guess.
