PKK - it isn!!!8217;t exactly the same situation but I imagine the process would be similar, a few years ago I had a severely abnormal smear and ended up having the cells burned off >.< it definitely sounds worse than it actually is and they inject your bits so you would not feel a thing. It was a pretty cool experience though because they insert a camera type device that shows your cervix on a screen (enlarged so the surgeon can see what they are doing) the nurse holding my hand told me to look as if never get the chance to see my cervix again lol got to say if you get a chance do look because when you see it you do think how will I ever squeeze a baby out of there! It is tiny! It is crazy what our bodies can do, only thing is I had to wait 30 days before I could DTD to make sure there was no chance of infection but this was about 6 years ago so things may have changed, recovery time is minimal really, I went clothes shopping right after, probably because my foof was completely numb lol but I cannot remember any discomfort afterwards at all

Hope that helps and puts your mind at rest! Xx

I've had it cauterised and also frozen with silver nitrate PKK (separate occasions!) I didn't have any anaesthetic as it's not quite as invasive as what they do for an abnormal smear. It didn't hurt as such, it was a bit crampy, like when you have a smear. Katie is right that I also had to abstain for a month, so you might struggle with that if you're TTC, but it depends how bad the bleeding is now, it might be worth it.

I also have some good news that I got a bfp this week! It probably feels like a fleeting visit for some of you, but I have been lurking for a few months so I feel like I know you all better than you know me! I actually have you lovely people to thank for helping me on the journey as this is where I first saw about the clearblue trial back in early March and I'd say that's the main reason it's happened so quickly for us. So a huge thank you from me xx

    Congratulations Hophop!

I hope the clear blue trial brings some luck as I've just signed up to start it next month.

AF has disappeared now so in the if in doubt zone. Luckily after six weeks straight of visitors/wknds away we have a weekend at home planned.

KatieBee123 You are the only other person I know who found having the camera to see your cervix cool! I really liked it (not the burning off bit obviously) but PKK it didn't hurt, just smelt a bit!

    Congratulations HopHop

Celepie there are two doctors at my surgery whom are amazing! I am moving in a few weeks and really sad that I will have to change doctors.

KatieBee123, HopHop, Rambosmum thanks for your reassurance that it doesn!!!8217;t hurt ladies! How long does it take? I get myself into abit of a mess when I need to have a procedure that I haven!!!8217;t had before, it!!!8217;s just the anxiety of not knowing what will happen. Once I!!!8217;ve had something done I tend to be able to control it, so I am worried I may become abit of a mess. Not DTD for 30 days isn!!!8217;t too bad, although I!!!8217;d prefer not to have to miss a cycle it!!!8217;s better than say 6 months!

HopHop congratulations! Were you in the test group of the trial? Let me know your BFP date so I can add it onto the graduate list!

I have finished my second cycle on the CD study now. Those of you that have finished, how long does it take for you to get the OPK sticks and £100? I want to make a real effort this cycle as we haven!!!8217;t for a few months due to the trial, bleeding and my odd cycles! Ideally I want to use the OPKs this cycle so I can try to pinpoint my ovulation. My cycle being 28 days last month has given me a little renewed hope so I want to take advantage of it! hahaha

It's pretty much the same process that you just went through but with addition of the cauterisation, and that bit only took a few minutes for me. So everything leading up to it will be very familiar for you.

BFP was on Monday 28th (well, a little faint positive was anyway) and yes I was in the test group. OH has said that if we need to try again we would buy the kit as it took a lot of the unknown away. Hopefully you get some good OPKs!

I really liked our fertility monitor (which is basically just doing the same as the digital CB sticks that do both estrogen and LH but it does also test for pregnancy and store your cycle details). We did 3 cycles with it - first didn't get peak but I moved testing window for next two months and got a peak both months. It takes the hassle out of squinting at OPKs trying to work out how dark the line is, but the replacement sticks (and the monitor itself) aren't cheap so defo take full advantage of the trial!

Have you been trialling the cbafm? I have one and love it. No BFP yet but I love the fact it takes away the uncertainty etc.

trying I found the CBFM a faff, took ages to get a reading and to sync. For someone who spend less than 10 minutes in the bathroom normally it was a pain in the neck!

Got my voucher through today, 2 weeks after sending everything back.
