Congratulations Rambosmum. I am sure this must be a nerve wrecking time for you, try your best to do things to keep your mind off it and as relaxed as you can (easier said than done I know!). Let me know when you feel ready to go on the graduates list :)

Sakurah welcome to the thread and well done for taking the plunge to delurk!

Gemini90 it may be a little friction that causes the light bleeding during DTD.

We booked a holiday to Mexico for September, as there was no mention of the zika virus for months/ last year we didn't even think it still existed.
We just over heard someone talking about it and now I'm concerned. If we cancel then we lose £250 deposit, obviously the danger of getting zika is worth the loss of money.
I don't know what to do!

Zika virus oh no! I thought that had long gone! Sorry for your dilemma skimper!

Ladies I can not believe what I found today, looking at all the vitamins, pre pregnant care bits in Superdrug I stumbled across a home testing kit for fertility, for men, women or a dual kit for both, I picked one up, basically the women kit tells you if you are pre menapausal, it is looking for a hormone that suggests you have low egg count and the male kit tests sperm count. For £21 it might put some of your minds at rest, obviously the kit will not be able to say if you have any underlying issues but one answer is better than no answer right? The kit is in association with DR pixie, the dr off embarrassing bodies, hope this helps some of you xxxx
  • I’ve read up on zika as we travel quite a lot, we delayed TTC as we really wanted to go to Thailand last year and have booked holidays in countries that aren’t affected this year. I’ve been to Mexico twice and not been bitten by mosquitos at all but I’m not sure I would want to take the risk, particularly as it can live in males for upto 6 months.

I think we can change our holiday and just pay an admin fee, we are going to sort it today. If we went I wouldn't want to risk it & would delay ttc by a year! I get bitten to death just sat in the back garden so my chances of not getting bit are low.

KatieBee123 I am always vary of shop bought tests that claim to do things like confirm paternity and test dna. I must admit I didn't realise there was a fertility one but I think I would be very cautious of how accurate it was! Just seems like they are exploiting vulnerable people who may be worried (often unnecessarily).

Skimper We went on holiday to someone listed as having zika virus. We intended to start TTC about 3 months after honeymoon so I spoke to the doctor about it. She said that the advice on zika changed constantly and the place we were going wasn't one of the main areas. However, if you are concerned and you can easily change it I think that would be best. As you would only be worrying and not relax on your holiday anyway!

Could I be moved to the 2WW please?
  • Cd1 for me. I'm so regular now in terms of 11 day luteal, could set my watch by AF. We go again for cycle 5 of TTC.
