  • I don't really know how to feel to be honest. But I am grateful to have at least one functional tube and hopefully that will be enough but given the fact that we have tried so long then I think we do need assistance. Although I cannot fault my treatment so far, I just hate the fact of waiting another few months to get the ball rolling

Oh Rachy I'm sorry to hear that and can understand you feeling overwhelmed. Excuse my ignorance but is unblocking the tube an option? I hope that now you know then you will get the support you need quickly for the next stage. If you do choose to go through IVF then don't give up hope TTC naturally. My cousin was just about to start treatment and conceived naturally. Likewise I know two friends over the past couple of years who have had success with IVF and both now have little boys, and it did seem to happen fairly quickly. Sorry if I am babbling, I hope that you are getting the support you need from the people around you. Sending hugs xx

Sorry to hear about the bleed samtoby, did you manage to get an appointment?

Also sorry to hear that the results were not what you expected rachy however don't lose hope, as you pointed out you still have a functioning tube!

    chelle, fingers crossed for you

Happy first wedding anniversary zeni, I hope you both had a wonderful time

We were referred to fertility clinic by GP last March, I got the day 1 and day 21 blood tests, along with the internal and hsg test done. When we went for follow up with the gynae a couple of weeks ago, we were advised to keep trying. I don't think there are any other tests they can do...I keep reading things like short luteal phase or the cervical mucus being too acidic for the lil fellas - I just feel like there should be more tests to be carried out...

AF also showed her ugly face yesterday and I cried. I'm thinking whether thinking about it too much along with stress from work is affecting our ability to conceive? Who knew TTC were so difficult!

    Big hugs to everyone xxx

rachy I'm sorry to hear the news wasn't what you hoped big hugs hun. Hopefully now they know what is going on they can offer you some solutions and the next steps forward.

lily I never realised how difficult it could be till being on here and reading everyone's stories. The irony of my earlier years panicking when AF was late and now I would give my right arm for it not to come!

Unfortunately the doctor I saw wasn't very good, she was new and there was a communication barrier and kept going to ask others their opinion. I was too emotional to think straight and didn't ask what I now realise I should have.

Although I think if they could have unblocked the tube then they would have done that at laparoscopy as that is part of the agreement of having it done (if anything is found, they fix it). I am unsure why they didn't remove it altogether but then I didn't know how badly damaged/blocked it was and I'm sure they had valid reasons. I may get back in touch with more questions
  • Rachylou I think you definitely should get back in touch with your questions, and it might help to write them down and the answers. I am the same if I'm upset, it seems to take all my energy just to nod at the doctor, but the information isn't really going in. If you can't have another appointment face to face, would they be able to talk on the phone or to post your notes to your GP to talk them through? I'm sure they must have a procedure for this, it must happen all the time.
  • twigpig can you put me in the 2WW - 1DPO please? I had a positive opk yesterday morning.

Rachy so sorry to hear your news. Sending lots of hugs!

Well AF is still hanging around, making a nuisance of herself! I'm just trying not to think about TTC for now and enjoy life a bit more as I think it's all stressing me out a bit. DH and I went to the Ideal Home Show yesterday which was lovely but we spent far too much money on a new dining table. It's completely bespoke and will be absolutely beautiful but it's still a lot of money which we didn't plan to spend.

I've asked for a copy of my clinic letter and hopefully that will help.
