Thank you Munchkin, I am sure AF is going to arrive eventually, I suppose I am just so used to knowing my cycles inside out that this feels a bit weird. Also we are going away for Hubby's 30th next week and I didn't want it playing on my mind then, but I suppose I'm just going to have to be patient with my body. Sorry to hear you have had a tough couple of weeks. I felt a bit strange on Mother's Day too, even though the MC was very early on it could have been a really happy and exciting day. Hope your OH is back soon and can offer you support. Take care of yourself xx
  • Hi Chelle

I had mmc at 11 weeks (embryo stopped growing about 6 weeks). I'm not convinced that I ov'd, and AF came just under 4 weeks after my d&c. I was told 3-6 weeks waiting for AF is normal, and it will come whether or not you ov! Unless of course you're already pregnant (not impossible).

Did you get a negative pregnancy test since your mc? It's good to know the old hormones are out of your system and any future pregnancy tests are about a new pregnancy.

Sorry to hear about your MMC Cherry, and thank you for your advice. I wasn't told anything about when to expect AF, I assumed that as I was pregnant for such a short time then everything would go back to normal pretty quickly. I have had a negative urine and blood test since so I know it's nothing from before. I think unless I get any symptoms I'll leave it until I get back from our trip. Thank you again.

Chelle sorry to throw a curveball but I MC at 5 weeks and we didn't wait for a "true" period. I did OPKs straight away and fell pregnant again immediately - despite the fact it had taken 14 months to get our first BFP! So it is very much possible.

However in general what you say is true - you won't have a proper AF until.you've ovulated. Having said that you can have cycles where you done ovulate - bur your AF would be very light and different (I had one of these where my cycle was 73 days but I'm certain I didn't ovulate).

Whilst I would love for you to be pregnant again straight away I mainly hope you can just get an answer either way.

Thank you Cats, I appreciate you sharing your experience. I don't think I am pregnant, but it's certainly not impossible. If I am, I'm past the point I MC last time (also 5 weeks) so will probably leave it a few more days see what my body does. Congratulations on the birth of your little one, I hope you are enjoying motherhood xx

Samtoby - How are you? Have you arranged to see anyone at the hospital yet? Wasn't sure when that time was going to be?

Chelle - My cycles went back to normal very quickly and I just had them down as normal periods. Thanks for asking about my results, I had actually just came to post about them...

Got my results from my laparoscopy this morning. I have a blocked tube and thin womb lining. I've had further blood tests to be sent to check for clotting disorders etc following my MMC and two chemical pregnancies. I was told that one tube is still okay for women but given my age and length of already TTC with no success then we can go down IVF route. Feeling very sad and overwhelmed :(
