    Evening Everyone,

I'd like to join you all officially, OH and I are going to be trying to conceive baby #2 this month. My period started this weekend, so we'll start trying once it's finished.

We have a little boy who will be 3 in August. I came off the pill in October and have been using a fertility app since to track my period etc. I used the same app to conceive baby #1 and it took us about 4 months - fingers crossed we are that lucky again.

Looking forward to getting to know you all, fingers crossed for us all too.

I'm glad you fell so quickly after your mc that you had before, I think you were quite lucky though. Basically I don't believe in the old wives tale of more fertile after mc, when actually a lot of women don't even ovulate the first cycle, and can wait a long time for AF to come along and reset everything. I know its kindly meant, but I think it is bad if it increases the pressure that women feel under to conceive.
Anyway, enough from me, I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend in the sunshine!

I could've written this. So many people say this and it gets women's hopes up only for them to come crashing down if it doesn't happen. We are still vulnerable and grief stricken so will cling to any hope of conceiving again quickly to ease the pain, only it then gets worse because we don't and then that 'more fertile time' has passed, when in reality it probably wasn't there to begin with. I am going through similar now after my lap and dye - people are saying a good clear out will probably make me more fertile. I am taking it with a pinch of salt, especially since most don't know I've had my results now.

I wasn't meaning to upset this was 3 years ago with my daughter. I didn't mean it to add pressure or anything - the hormones are present and levels are up and thats why some fall. And thats it 'some', just like some blink and they are pregnant some it takes so long. Its taken me longer this time to fall than my other two - so just shows even when you have had children doesn't make it easier - which people kept telling me!

Good luck with your journey and I hope I didn't upset.

  • Hi Samtoby, I don't think there's anything wrong in saying what your experience was, I just wanted to tell another story to balance it out a bit. I hope I haven't upset you either, this is a kind, supportive, sometimes humorous place, and I don't want to harm that. Best wishes to all.

    Congrats Zeni, how exciting!

I got a negative on OPK on CD10, almost positive late yesterday PM (CD11) and negative this morning (CD12)
I normally OV on CD14-16 so if the acupuncture has worked wonders and brought OV forward I'm quite upset as we totally missed it (OH was poorly last week, only just started being able to breathe properly again! so we were planning to start our fertile week BDing tonight :()

  • kirtsypoos it's not too late! I think the opks show you will be ov-ing in the following 12-48 hours, and its possible to conceive for 12 hours after ov too. Fx for you.
