    Hi ladies,

I'm CD1 again today and if you don't mind I'd like removing from the lists. I think everyone that was on here when I joined 18 months ago has graduated and I don't feel I belong here any more, so I'm going to bow out now.

    Thanks for your support xx

Millie, hope you stick around.... we're all here for support regardless of how long the journey. Took me 18months for my first so I do know what you mean.......

New people can bring new ideas and believe me we tried some crazy ideas. :rotfl: We all want to see everyone move on and you will, I am sure you will (hugs). In the short term, we're all here of you need to vent :)

Edited to add a reminder of the trials and tribulations thread, I also used this trying for my first. This might offer more support to you too...... do you mind if I ask, did it long to conceive your 1st?

Millie sorry AF showed up again. This journey is so so tough, and the longer it takes the harder it just gets. I'm a few months behind you, but I find it overwhelming when I think about just how long I've been trying. I've struggled with it all, especially over the past month, but I've been trying to develop my coping strategies to help me deal with it all. Feel free to pm me at any time if you want to chat, and take care of yourself xx
  • Sorry to see you go Millie, I echo what the others say about staying but I understand that it must be sad to see how many have graduated in the time you've been here :(. I hope you join the other TTC thread, you may see some familiar names there.

I had someone ask yesterday whether we are doing baby or marriage first since we said we were going to have a baby this year. I snapped at her that I didn't want to talk about it and didn't need the pressure, couldn't help myself. You would think that people would have the thought process that if you said back at the beginning of the year you were going to try for a baby then there just might be a small chance that you have been trying and nothing has happened :mad:

Her partner shut her up when she didn't get the hint and I got an apology later by text. I explained I was sorry but it was private and I was just caught off guard with her questions. She then went on to say I should go to the doctors if I need it, which made me roll my eyes. Don't give advice when I'm not asking . I politely said that we are in control of things and just need time. Doubt she will ask again.

I'm so torn as to whether to miss a cycle with the redundancy over our heads. One of my friends is saying that it is not worth it as OH is highly likely to get another job by 8-9 months and although I agree, I think it's a bit risky and presumptious. I don't want to make a mistake and struggle financially. What do you all think?

    Hi Everyone,

I just wrote a huge post but I lost it trying to post it.

Firstly - Newthrift - massive congrats, lovely to see you get your BFP.

Millie - I am so sorry about CD1. I can only imagine how hard it is to get another AF after 18 months. Please know that if you do move boards then you are always welcome back here for a chat/moan/rant about TTC.

Rachy - Instead of stopping completely this cycle why don't you take the 'not trying not preventing' approach? I am doing that now rather than consciously trying as I could feel that TTC was having a massive negative impact on me mentally. I can honestly say its been a breath of fresh air and has helped me massively. It was hard at first to take the plunge - however you could use the possible redundancy as a reason to give that a go? If you do fall pregnant and if your Oh should get made redundant I am sure he would find another role within 9 months. I always think that a baby will fit in wherever it is meant too and life will work around the baby.

as for me, AF due next weekend, no signs or symptoms just plodding along x

Rachy just dropping by to say I obviously don't know your financial situation but I'd be inclined to stick with things but like AO503 says maybe just be more relaxed?

My OH always says he would literally take any job to keep us afloat if he had to, he'd do bar shifts, odd jobs, whatever necessary. Clearly that is an extreme situation but the point is people manage kids on all kinds of incomes and whilst not ideal it works.

The only thing I'd say is personally I wouldn't want to risk actual debt. Scraping by is one thing but actually owing money would be too far for me - very much a personal opinion though.

Millie - am thinking of you. I hope you can get support elsewhere even if this isn't the right place xx

  • Thanks A053 and Cats :)

I think we will take a relaxed approach next month but I am not sure I cannot try at all, it seems crazy and I may live to regret it

Financially, if worse came to worse and he is made redundant, we will have a payout as well as some savings and he shouldn't be out of a job long with his experience and new qualifications. We would get by no problem for a while. I think we have just never been in this position before so it was a bit rabbit in headlights and panic that led us to think about stopping TTC. We may still have caught this month yet...CD 23 today.
  • Rachy, I always think that things seem to have a way of working themselves out. No matter what happens, people get through things. X
