Wow, some people do like to jump on things don't they, Brat !!! Really ? How the hell would you know ?? maybe a should have substituted "horrified" with "extremely unhappy", then the smart people maybe wouldn't have contributed. Thanks so much for those who saw the genuine side of the post and gave a decent opinion to the smart people.
I still haven't heard back from the lease company but will no doubt post the results here, I'm certain the car will be staying with us, and yes it is a fair offer they have made, but I will be trying to improve it. Why wouldn't I ??
I obviously got a word wrong in my OP and also think I should substitute the word "people" with "!!!!!!" in this post. :)

    this tells me spades

As has been said already - its an MSE site, the O/P may as well ask.

So what you are saying is that you never noticed at any point that it was the wrong model?

I think the lease company/dealer has made a generous offer, you are saving £20 a month on what the car usually leases for.

If your daughter is so upset now how will she react when the car comes to the end of the lease?

Sadly there are too many people on here who seem to have too much time on their hands and like to spend this time judging others rather than helping them save money.

    Frankly, no.

She's got a brand spankin' new £11k-£15k car. She might have to pay £20/mo to keep some toys. She's "horrified".

Especially since she hasn't even passed her test and her friends will all have bangers.

That said; they made the mistake and whilst you should have pointed it out to them, you may as well see if they can do you a better deal on the car you've landed with, but bear in mind they are perfectly entitled to reject it and make you hand it back where your daughter will get the (still extravagent) car you paid for.

It hasn't been a money saving forum for a while.

Every few posts seem to be about how to scam a company out of money whilst acting all innocent.

I got the impression that this forum was about pouncing on unsuspecting posters, insulting them, belittling them, accusing them of being trolls, or just being as nasty and vicious as possible.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

u might think its uncalled for motorguy but its a fact most new drivers write their car off/ crash pretty quickly after theyve passed

so my opinion is that its a waste of money getting a brand new car

    Debt-free and Proud!
One of my earliest memories is when I went on holiday to a haven caravan park or something in France, was given the keys to a lovely static van, unpacked all clothes and toys and about to head to the beach all excited and thinking how lovely my bedroom was, when the rep came over and told my parents they've been given the wrong 'van and had to move to an older naffer van immediately. I can understand the daughter being upset.

I think OP, you thought you might have gotten away with it, I'd have done the same and kept schtum.

They'll no doubt lose a lot more taking the car back as its no longer new and no previous owners. I'd say if it was the dealers fault, ask them to cover the £20 shortfall, or go halves. How long till the 'real' car is delivered?
