Ive always acknowledged having a defined benefit pension. Most public servants have similar! Doesnt make me a hypocrite for railing against tax havens. Not the same at all.

But buying extra pension just to milk what is available to you comes at a direct cost to the services you claim to want to defend.

Do as I say, not as I do right? Mr Cameron didn't milk the system, you are though.

So basically you and Clapton are saying that because I am in the LGPS I am milking the system ...whereas what Cameron did isn't. That's absolute nonsense! The two are not comparable. You're just on a wind up! I thought my pension scheme, (LGPS) was based on this Country's tax law....am I wrong?

They don't really believe that it is immoral, they are simply trying to make you re-think your original stance regarding morals and tax avoidance. Plus having a go at you of course, but you have probably realised by now that you brought that upon yourself (no offence meant).

Only an idiot thinks paying for something by tax is maintaining a fiction it is free, you're not so don't use such childish nonsense if you can't think of a decent point.

Unless you are getting confused because the Aussies around you are actually dumb enough to think their army, schools, and roads are free because they don't pay for them directly and you got confused into thinking that level of stupidity applied elsewhere ;)

Hmm. Well the NHS advertises itself as providing stuff for 'free':

    As does local Government:

    And the newspapers:

Thanks for the insult. I take it that was for free.

'Free at the point of need' as the old NHS maxim says.

But I was being told that morals don't come into it....it was just facts and law. Can't see why I brought it on myself....that would be accepting their moral relativism surely? For instance did you see Question Time last night? Look at the latest polling taken as well:-

Many people think like me it seems and I just can't see how its just that we are all stupid over the issue. I think its more that...you tend to get this forum predominately peopled by individuals who have very specific attitudes towards the issue of tax.

what I said is that you and cameron and livingstone and the Benns are all reducing their tax burden legally
Because your only value system is tribal loyalty to the Labour party, you choose to ignore all the issues about tax avoidance, except accuse Cameron of cheating (even though you clearly do not even understand the issues.
And by the way, you you want to remove the tax free status of spouse transfers or only just for the Tories?

Doubling down on the puerile positioning I see. You know well enough what free means in that context, it's just a shame you're childish enough at times to think what you're doing passes for anything more than a vacuous ramble. When you get bored of playing in the sandpit and want to have an adult discussion about what does or doesn't constitute 'free' let me know.
Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Blackwhite bellyfeel double plus good...

Clearly your morals don't come into it as you are more than happy to stick the boot in to those that pay their way while taking advantage of every tax break you are offered.
