If they were to retrain as mechanics or locksmiths we'd snap them up.

gosh : now some random Aus bloke on the internet was trying to tell me that Aus had an open door immigration policy : lucky I didn't believe a word he was saying.

For example, most people except the very poorest co-pay for medical treatment whereas the Brits like to maintain the fiction that healthcare is free.

Only an idiot thinks paying for something by tax is maintaining a fiction it is free, you're not so don't use such childish nonsense if you can't think of a decent point.

Unless you are getting confused because the Aussies around you are actually dumb enough to think their army, schools, and roads are free because they don't pay for them directly and you got confused into thinking that level of stupidity applied elsewhere ;)

    Hmmm

What you expected a position from him that wasn't rude or some flavour of incoherent?

    ...Hmmm

I'm inclined to point out that an 'accountant' is someone who can analyse, understand, and explain what numbers mean.

Someone who has kept a record of their outgoings for the last decade and recently averaged them out, sounds to me more like a bookkeeper. In my experience, bookkeepers often maintain detailed records that serve no purpose whatsoever, largely due to their inability to 'think like an accountant'.

Although in defence of bookkeepers, they are normally capable of (a) remembering when a tax return is due, and (b) remembering to put the numbers in a box somewhere.

Moby should hold true to his socialist values and voluntarily forgo his pension so that society can be a bit fairer

I'm sure if Moby had to worry about funding his own retirement through a funded pension scheme (which would leave more money to spend on the NHS etc) then he would soon learn about how international investment funds work

its very easy spouting leftie moral's about what others should do from a position of privileged ignorance
Left is never right but I always am.

A public sector pension may still be generous but its certainly not a privilege. Its simply part of their pay and remuneration package.

    Indeed so.
No use dripping about the perceived privilege of others when we all enter into (and can leave) our situations freely.

Ive always acknowledged having a defined benefit pension. Most public servants have similar! Doesnt make me a hypocrite for railing against tax havens. Not the same at all.
