Cameron Tax Dodger

Maybe. Certainly some of the newspapers like to peddle that line and Mr Corbyn certainly does. If I was expecting to live the rest of my days sitting on my Aris, wanting everyone else to provide for my every need then I'd probably be quite annoyed with this Government.
I don't want to distress you but if they're true to their word, you're about to be inundated with a large group of "Aris sitting" Junior doctors. There's no room in 21st Centiry Britain for these "low achievers" so you're going to have them.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
While I appreciate the well constructed post and sound reasoning, I fear that it is wasted on Moby. I'm sure he is a nice chap but he despises a set of people (the Tories) and in particular hates David Cameron. I guess this is because David hasn't given him a pay rise.
So when someone is irrational with hate, bad things happen. In this case, lets hope the bad thing is that he evades all the logic in your post rather than physically explodes due to pent up rage.
Moby, I hope my post cheers you up, I don't mean any harm.
You make assumptions about me that aren't true and don't bother patronising me. Chewmylegoffs post said nothing new. I would have responded if it had. Its simply that I have a different philosophy on life to many on this forum. I made my point well imo. The fact that this forum is peopled by individuals who have a very different world view means I'm not popular I accept. Point is though what's the point of going on a forum where we all agree....that would be boring!0 -
He's also the banks' favourite customer. Not a penny of his £75K salary appears to have gone anywhere near an account that pays any interest whatsoever.
Plus it took him six days to publish his tax return because he couldn't find it. Somehow I have a vision of the Russian attack being in full swing, and a prime minister saying "now I know I have those Trident launch codes somewhere... maybe they're underneath that pile of pizza flyers..."
Ohhh so I see now ...everyones got it wrong....the media frenzy over the last week should have been about Corbyn. Sheer myopia I'm afraid!0 -

LOL. They don't make the list!

If they were to retrain as mechanics or locksmiths we'd snap them up.0 -
You aren't getting the subtleties. You aren't thinking holistically.
The poster acknowledges technically (spit) he hasn't broken the law on his tax. But maybe he thought about it, or a relative thought about it, or he might in the future, or it was a tuesday. So technically he's done nothing wrong but holistically, he has. Kafkaesque.
I can't remember the last time I had a conversation with HMRC and told them whilst technically I owe the tax, holistically I didn't, so would they drop their demand.
Wrong......I said technically on what we know he hasn't broken the law but that's not the point because there is a moral angle too. I've also explained why this is the case. ......but of course you chose not to acknowledge what I actually said and instead choose to twist it to fit your own prejudice. Why bother mate. If you've got nothing to say which is worthwhile to me ignore me.0 -

Well he has actually done something wrong with his taxes: failing to declare a pension fund that he is the beneficiary of. It's probably based offshore too. Plus AIUI he was late getting his tax return in.
If he was a Tory you'd have to go and change your trousers you'd be so excited.Wrong......I said technically on what we know he hasn't broken the law but that's not the point because there is a moral angle too. This is the really sad bit. Despite it being clearly explained to you with some quite short words you still seem to think that Mr Cameron has done something wrong. Yet you defend Mr Corbyn who has demonstrably lied to the taxman!0 -

You never know what happens in the future....I wouldn't be too smug about yourself and your independence!0 -

I sometimes feel I am the sole voice around here against the conditions incentivising leveraged BTL over OO purchases, so I think I could relate.
However, I just don't feel like you've made any sort of argument at all. The facts show that David Cameron has bought and sold shares in a fund which is available to any one of us and may very well be in your own pension pot. If not, then a similar fund will almost certainly be used.
He sold out of the fund, paid any tax that was due (or not in this case).
He received cash gifts from his mother. Like millions of other people around the country.
That is the sum total of the story.
You desperately want there to be more because in your own words you hate the guy. But there isn't and you can't will it to be something it isn't.
You are part of the very group of people who spread the most hate in this country that I can see. Hate is bad, even if you think it is righteous hate.0 -
