Cameron Tax Dodger

I'll reply with some short words for you then ......The thing I don't understand about you Gen is that you don't listen! You have a view of Britain which is fixed and too similar to the retired dry old sticks on here whose primary drive is a need to conserve their remaining capital. In post after post after post I explained why he is a scumbag and every time you and others took me back to the fact that he hasn't broken the law....when Ii HAD EXPLAINED THAT WAS ONLY HALF THE STORY. You really need to stop thinking like an accountant....at least for part of the time!
I'm not an accountant.
Mr Cameron has done nothing wrong. He's not broken the letter or the spirit of the law. The only people that think he's done something wrong don't understand what has happened and think that offshore = dodgy. He has done nothing wrong and he hasn't done what you think he's done. He has paid all the tax he owes and would have paid exactly the same amount of tax if the fund concerned had been based in the UK.
If he is lying about what he has done, which you have stated you believe despite having no evidence whatsoever, then he deserves to face the consequences. Out of interest, what consequences do you think Mr Corbyn should face for lying to the taxman about his income?
It's hardly my fault that you don't understand what has happened and lack either the brains or the intellectual curiosity to find out.0 -
the retired dry old sticks on here whose primary drive is a need to conserve their remaining capital.I'm planning on retiring soon
A sensible retirement plan would be to conserve your capital, by sensibly gradually drawing it down (also considering any inheritance to leave of course), and ensuring that it lasts for your total retirement duration. What is your plan? To blow it in the first few years of retirement? You really need to stop thinking like an accountant....at least for part of the time!I've kept a record of my outgoings for the last 10 years or so and recently averaged out my spending.
HmmmChuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

Sources said the tax-free present was because mum thought Dave's £300,000 inheritance from dad wasn't enough.
But there's a very happy coincidence for Clan Cameron here.
Ian's sum for his son was just below the £325,000 inheritance tax threshold. If he had left left Dave the full £500,000, it appears an extra £70,000 or so inheritance tax would have been payable on Ian's estate. Spouses, however, are exempt from paying inheritance tax on what they're given. So the £200,000 will not have been taxed because it was left to Mary Cameron!
.....but of course all these options are available to all of us....must advise my service users that next time one of them tells me they are homeless after being released from the local nick!;)
What a scumbag!0 -

Hmmm
No quarrel with you Chuck ....you are one of the fair guys! Don't mean that in a patronising way either!
No ...I'm saving hard and have a final salary pension. My problem is the job I do is really hard, (supervising high risk offenders) and this govmts policies are driving me to distraction.0 -

You really are sounding more pathetic by the day...Every generation blames the one before...

I must be paranoid this morning, it did cross my mind that that comment was actually (at least partially) aimed at me, hands up, I obviously got that wrong.
I too have a final salary pension, although mine will be much smaller than yours, as I only started in the public sector 6 years ago. But I have bought the max amount of additional pension allowed. Have you looked at that, it really is great value, if you haven't already bought additional pension, you should seriously consider doing so, or are you too close to retirement to do that now? I am probably going to retire next summer, I almost went this summer, but my wife is retiring next year, so it made sense to do another year.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
Oh really! From what I've read he's made a cool £1million since being the Leader of the Opposition in 2009. He topped up his £143,000 salary with handsome rent, shares in his late dad's Panama fund and a whopping £200,000 gift from his mummy. He's set to dodge tax on this and he didn't want us to know that!;)

why don't you actually make specific proposals about what you want rather than simply saying all richer tories are evil : it would be so much more interesting
so e.g. are you saying that tax exemption of transfers between husband and wife should be abolished?0 -

Comrade Corbyn according to his tax return did not receive a penny in interest during the last tax year. I would suspect it would be quite difficult to not earn a single penny of interest when earning at least 75k unless you for example transferred the money to your partner perhaps to take advantage of the fact that they were in a lower tax bracket.I think....0 -

I'm looking at retiring next summer as well but chose the AVC route instead of the additional pension option. Like you I'm looking forward to spending more time with my dogs, (three dachshunds in my case) and frequent trips to Costa Rica and Thailand.0 -

I said he was a scumbag for the reasons given above and he clearly realised how it would be viewed because of the way he behaved when challenged. He tries to pretend that he is someone he isn't. Like when he couldn't tell the difference between A Villa and West Ham.....and yet we are all supposed to be in this together? ....he is the PM .....he is supposed to rise above party politics and provide leadership for the whole country and not just the tory part! He is divisive, thin skinned and arrogant imo and every so often he is exposed just a little bit and you see a shaft of light exposing the reality. Corbyn clearly doen't have the wit to expose him and for me that is frustrating but that doesn't change what he is!0
