    Morning all

The fella showed up last night about 4pm, and spent until nearly 5pm with the manhole cover up trying to clear the blockage....but has been unsuccessful. He said he suspects its either on someone elses property, or in the direction he can't get the rods moving in as it feels like a bend in the drains. He thinks the drains have been moved due to the kitchen extension and thats why there's bends in the pipes as they should all line up. He's supposed to be coming back today with more rods (he left his here) and possibly the boss man to see what they can do so still no laundry, no showers, and trying to limit what stuff we put down the drain. I did wash most of the dishes last night (and chucked the water on the garden), but this is getting silly as its nearly 48 hours since I got in touch with him. Its also surprising how many things involve using water that you don't even think of until you're in this situation, and I daren't just wash up upstairs etc in case those pipes are backing up but we can't tell.

So I'm opting for a lazy-ish day since I can't go out. I'm going to watch TV and do some shredding I think. I had planned to go out with DD but thats not going to happen now.

Nikki hope you get it sorted today as I'm pretty sure that when it involves drains/water it is becomes an environmental issue and cannot be left for any length of time..especially if you have no water to use properly.

I would have thought twhat he would have used a camera on a rod to see where the blockage actually is..regardless of bends. They are on a bendy thingy anyway so can go round the bends.. I only know because when our waste pipe got blocked we had homeserve in to sort it out and they used a camera to look round all the pipes outside.. I wonder if the guy was fobbing you off due to being late out and wanted to go home etc... I know I would have been seriously asking questions when he turned up later..

Hopefully it will be sorted out by the end of the day.

Aaaaah I give up... The pup is being a right little !!!!!... He has chewed through another pair of slippers, that were actually on my feet (he got them when I fell asleep on the sofa earlier), two pairs of sandals that he found in the bedroom..and the wallpaper in the hallway looks like it has been excavated!!! Please tell me this will stop soon, he is 1yrs next week...lol.

It's not as if he isn't stimulated enough, he has toys/chews and the younger cat to play with.. Plus he has playtime with either me or Dave everyday, several times a day..and is walked once aday, sometimes even twice and also has funtime in the garden...

Its a builder the landlady said to call out that does all sorts of maintenance work. They're the same blokes who did all the work on the house last year. He used a hook type thing so I think he was just expecting it to be blocked with toiletpaper or something that could be moved easily. I wouldn't be surprised if the drain is blocked by a tree root or something from the sycamore tree that used to be next door or the cherry tree that's still there, or the drain had collapsed. We are now at 48 hours since I called the boss man, who apparently forgot they were supposed to call on Tuesday! I'd have rather called someone else, but the landlady said I had to call him and I have. Most frustrating thing now is that I can't go out anywhere as they won't have access if they showed up due to alleygates and people being out at work, plus Zack would go ballistic (even though he has calming drops on) if he realised there were blokes in the yard and I wasn't here.

Nope. Mine were a year old in March but are still furniture-chewing, bin-raiding, chicken-chasing, lead-pulling, postman-intimidating, egg-stealing monkeys. But I loves 'em anyway :heartpuls Stay strong - these are just 'things' and who needs 'things' anyway?

Not much done today as I've been making ooh-ahh noises at next door's new borders. The husband wanted my approval before work started and I keep getting requested to admire the on going work lol. Bless him :rotfl:

On the plus side, Tiny is snoozing, so I get to turn children's TV off. There's only so much Peppa Pig I can take!

Piggers hope things are improving - thinking of you, mate.

Nicki it sounds like a total nightmare - I just wish I had some sound advice to offer to get it sorted quicker.:(

Zilch done here - it's taking all my spoons to meet Ollie's needs; but, bless him, he's such a lovely chap, it's worth it. And we can catch up next week. ;)

Oh nikki what a nightmare. Hope it gets sorted soon x

This morning I cleaned the sofa although still a little damp to sit on!!!! And did a little ironing. I did some washing and a few dailies then took ds2 to soft play and stayed for lunch. Then popped to arg*s. Ds2 got a scooter for Christmas And the pin to adjust the height of the handles has broken. Wasn't sure if they would change it but they were brilliant and although there are none in stock in the area, they have ordered one in and I can pick it up tomorrow! Chuffed with that. Ds2 fell asleep in the car and Is still asleep after putting him on the sofa! Bless him! I have 45 mins before I need to pick up ds1 but little miss having a free so not sure what I will get done. Then we are out tonight as ds1 has a little race at 6pm.

  • Hi,

Nothing done yet. Doing homework battling. Grrrrrrr. After that I'm making tea, doing the dailies, walking the dog and seeing if I have time for anything else.

I wish it was acceptable to tie dd1 to the chair until the flipping stupid homework was done.

I have failed miserably with foloowing the lists but I do read. I am delurking to reply to nikki. sorry to hear about your drains and all the problems you are having. We had similar problems last year. Is it a shared drain? If it is I am sure it is the responsibilty of the water board. It may be worth ringing them and explaining the situation, our's were very helpful and came out that evening to assess the problem. They agreed it was their responsibilty and we are now trying to get the money back we paid the company who started the work when he shouldn't have (but that is a different story!). The water board should have a 24 hour phone number. I hope you manage to get it sorted soon.

Back to lurking but I promise one day I will be back for good:)

I am sorry for not posting over the last few days. But everything has gone fine this week.

DH worked from home yesterday so I was well looked after, and DD2 was here this morning.

Sleep is still being appreciated. I feel so much better for getting a good solid amount every night.

If I could have some Flylady vibes tomorrow morning it would be appreciated - I have to get the GP surgery to produce a prescription in half the normal time - or I will run out of essential equipment...the prescription request was triggered by the district nurse, not me, and it's not my fault it went in late.

Hope everyone is well. Nicking hope everything is resolved soon on the drains front and that Vali receives fewer curved balls.
    :jFlylady and proud of it:j
