    Afternoon all
Been really busy, hope all are well
    Hugs where needed
Honey yes they are Tshirts, dd couldn't part with them but they were too small or tatty to carry on wearing so we're just cluttering up the bottom of her wardrobe in two black bags.
Did mils cleaning this morning and threw a load of ood food away.
Then work and home for food with Dh, then back to work for two hours volunteer gardening weeding some beds with the kids ready for planting week.
Back home blitzed the bathroom, dysoned landing and stairs swept all through downstairs tidied hall and now going to do tea.
Guy round tonight to look at bathroom with us hence the blitz.

    Think ill Sleep well tonight.

Excellent use for old teeshirts, Mrs MP. She'll love that throw forever.

I've found that a hefty cup of bicarb followed by about half a pint, or even more, of vinegar down slow or smelly drains works a treat. A kettle full of boiling water about 15 minutes later shifts a lot of crud and if the problem's been around a while I do drains twice. The kitchen sink gets done every month or so as a matter of course. It's not a good idea if the drain's blocked but it's better for your drains than all of the really evil chemicals that are for sale which can do a whole heap of damage. We've got a couple of drainpipes that are almost horizontal and the buildup of showery detritus is a real problem unless I keep them clear with the bicarb and vinegar treatment about once a month. It took me 20 years to work out that the really nasty smell that built up in the double room in the basement wasn't the mattress or the carpet - it was the gunk in the shower drain building up. Fortunately blocked drains seem to be a thing of the past here and I don't want to go back to those days.
    Better is good enough.

Morning all hugs to everyone who needs them
Valli sorry to read life is being mean I hope that things start to improve for you very soon
CY hope you are getting plenty of rest and things are as good as can be for you.
Pigpen hope you are alright and back on here soon.
Hope your drain is soon sorted nicki, the advice that honey gave sounded excellent, I'll try that at mils as I regularly have to pull a carrier bag of gunk from her outside drain so put half a bag of soda crystals followed by hot water down her kitchen sink that keeps the pipe from sink to outside clear but then whatever caused the block festers in the outside drain.

Won't be about much today as I'm busy but I'll catch up later.

Did manage to get all my little gerberas potted on last night so now have kitchen sill crammed full of seedtrays and plantpots.

Sticks and spoons for those in need, just help yourselves.

Morning all, hope you're all ok.

I didn't achieve as much as I'd have liked yesterday. Only got as far as changing the bedding and dailies.

This morning I am embroiled in paperwork as it is payday.

    Have a great day everyone.

Oh forgot to say friends Dh had some fantastic ideas for the 'new' bathroom last night, pointed to some great ways to change things that will make a huge difference.
He's put our week in his diary and we can go for a final look at tiles etc a couple of weeks before he fits to make our final choice.
He's having a skip and said if we have carp to shift he will get a slightly bigger one to stay two weeks instead so we can add to the stuff he'll be binning.
Still working on using up toiletries to minimise stuff stashed in there.

    Morning all

The fella showed up last night about 4pm, and spent until nearly 5pm with the manhole cover up trying to clear the blockage....but has been unsuccessful. He said he suspects its either on someone elses property, or in the direction he can't get the rods moving in as it feels like a bend in the drains. He thinks the drains have been moved due to the kitchen extension and thats why there's bends in the pipes as they should all line up. He's supposed to be coming back today with more rods (he left his here) and possibly the boss man to see what they can do so still no laundry, no showers, and trying to limit what stuff we put down the drain. I did wash most of the dishes last night (and chucked the water on the garden), but this is getting silly as its nearly 48 hours since I got in touch with him. Its also surprising how many things involve using water that you don't even think of until you're in this situation, and I daren't just wash up upstairs etc in case those pipes are backing up but we can't tell.

So I'm opting for a lazy-ish day since I can't go out. I'm going to watch TV and do some shredding I think. I had planned to go out with DD but thats not going to happen now.
