So £4 more waiting for me in MyRewards. Shall leave it there till payday (24th). Due to a change in OH's job I shall be using my extra shift pay to keep us afloat, I hope to still be able to save £500. Soon it will all be good with his job so can get the savings and debt payments increased again.

OH is starting a new job, 4 on 4 off, but as he is only going to be 'bank' not 'perm' until this one guy gets a start date at his new place he will be paid one month behind so the two weeks worked in August is paid end of September, so his first full month will be end of October. This will mean it's tight for 2 months but he would get 2+ weeks pay in September if he goes part time within the month or even 2 full months pay in October if he becomes perm at start of October.

We will get though this just not buying anything till we are sorted.

  • Payday can't come soon enough. I get my main wage on 24th but get paid this Friday and next for my extra shifts.

Anyways I paid Virgin and cancel the DD but it still went out leaving me overdrawn and the money won't be refunded til tomorrow meaning I'll now get charges.

Also looked at my mobile bill and saw it is £35 above what it should be. Turns out two 15min calls were either called/received on 31st July. I don't recognise the number, it looks like a scam number - 66669xxxxx so it has been escalated and I should hear back within 5 days. I have a mind to cancel my DD til it is sorted out as I'm not paying for them!

  • So the weight is slowly coming off me. I have about 60lbs to lose, whilst my stomach is still big it is definitely showing improvements :) Need to get rid of the bingo wings now.

In other news my matron did my ucas reference so that is all complete and can be sent on the first day applications open (6th September). I have applied to the following:

Brighton Sept 2017 start - BSc
Surrey Sept 2017 Start - BSc
Portsmouth Feb 2018 start - BSc
Southampton Sept 2017 start - BSc
Southampton Feb 2018 start - PGDip

It all comes down to offers and funding. I can potentially get secondments with the top two uni's but I like the idea of doing only two years at Southampton.

  • Payday yesterday for an extra shift at £128 and just exchanged £6.74 of myrewards. Now we will just have to wait and see if we can actually pay our bills for September.

  • Payday tomorrow and have been playing with the budget on YNAB. With OH's job situation he will only be giving me £400 instead of the usual £550, might be the same again next month but should be ok the following month.

So I have budgeted for £1670.09 but have only £1579 coming in. The budget doesn't include any holiday savings, extra food or any spends. I have budgeted for the food cost from last month spent on the credit card and this months spends will not be due till next month.

I however have £128 in savings from my extra job which will make up the short fall but don't get paid again for any extra work till 16th September.

From now till end of October I shall be making around £900 extra  I'm expecting to need to use £400 ish towards bills etc though.

  • Payday has been and gone. Budget has been sorted and it's not looking too bad. No spending money allocated or extra money but I do have extra shift money if needed.

  • Food spends so far £61.00, if I can keep it under £200 for the month it will be great.

Got stung with my mobile bill. I have two calls on there that I don't recognise, one to me & one from me. If you try to ring them you get the usual 'this number is invalid' messgae. Even so I am being charged, how can an invalid call last for 15 mins!

So I made a big stink and they aren't going to charge me this time but as it was from my sim it means I made the calls. I can understand if I accidentally made a call t an actual number but to an invalid one! I do have to however pay the full amount this month and then it will be credited next month!

  • Paid my share of Barclaycard & Halifax credit cards today, unfortunately my OH can't afford to pay them this month so no extra payments. Can't wait till the end of September when he get his first full months wage.

  • I have been looking at where I want to be by Jan 2018. Working out all my finances on a £1300 income and I should have £690 after bills! However I don't think I'll be completely debt free so I'm looking at £200 of the £690 towards debt leaving me £490 to save and for food/spends.

My aim for 2018 is to put £250 away and work extra to make £100-200. Now if I get into nurse training I don't think I'll achieve this but we will just have to see what the future holds.
