So umm as well as opening the Halifax Reward Account I have applied for and been accepted for a main stream credit card! Lloyds 0 % BT and 24.9 % APR with a £1000 limit. My plan was to balance transfer some of the Virgin card but have instead decided to leave it and use it for out holiday next May.

By Christmas 2017 all debt shall be repaid !!

Payday wasn't as much as I thought it was :( have split it over 2 savings accounts but may just need one to get me through August.

As my Halifax current account wasn't linked to my saving accounts I have now opened a savings account linked to this new current account. I shall be transferring the £5 reward money into it each month, may transfer in my Natwest Rewards money as well as any cashback & winnings from bingo/scratch cards etc, not that I get much if any.

I do have some bingo accounts but I'm too scared to play the bonuses lol

I currently have £9.08 in my Natwest Rewards with £10.98 pending.

  • Once I've repaid Barclaycard Initial I shall close it I think, will keep Capital One open as that is seen as a good card (I think) and also the Aqua just for the credit report extras. Maybe soon I'll start getting better credit limits (not that I'll use them).

Cashplus has today been reduced by £35 so the balance now stands at £126.2

So I have transferred my 'MyRewards' money into my account, should be there in a few days, £11-ish. Have £9.52 pending. Have decided that each Friday I will check it and if it is over £5 transfer it out.

Trying to work out amounts of saving to try for each month, will have a play around with my budget.

Changed a few bank shifts and added others and up to the end of October I should make around £700, all to go towards the May 2017 holiday hopefully.

Playing around with YNAB and I need £1058 a month + OHs share to cover all bills. Would like £250-300 a month for food/spends so looking at needing £1308-1358 from my min wage. I should be very close so will use my bank shifts to make it up then anything else is to go towards the holiday.

Don't think that it will be a problem plus next year Halifax will be paid off as well as my credit union loan and my student loan.

Another win on postcode lottery! £20 this time, must be my 4th win this year, the others only being £10 each.

  • How much is the postcode lottery a ticket? National lottery is a joke these days I think, plus it's £2!

Where you off to on holiday next year? x

So I have decided to sort out my savings accounts, I currently have:

    Virgin
    Natwest
    Nationwide
    Halifax x 3

I'm not sure of all interest rates, one is an ISA and all or easy access so pretty low.

    I need the following:

    Holiday - flights 0/1500 - ?
    Holiday - spends 0/2000 - May 2017
    Holiday - tickets 200/600 - September 2016
    Rental deposit - 0/2000
    Emergency - 0/1000
    Spends - no target

I have also opened a Halifax reward account so when I am paid I will transfer my wages from Lloyd to Halifax before transfering to Natwest and I shall set up 2 credit card DD to make sure I get the £5 reward.

I would love to save x% each month but realistically I can't :( 10% is just too much, maybe I can try for 5% of main wage and 10% of extra wages, going into one of the above savings accounts.

    Some changes made:

    Holiday - flights 50/1500
    Holiday - spends 0/2000 - May 2017
    Holiday - tickets 1000/800 - September 2016
    Rental deposit - 0/2000
    Emergency - 0/1000
    Spends - no target

Going to focus on the flights then the spends money.
