  • I know people are getting frustrated with me on here but could i please ask one final question if someone would be so kind to answer..............

At the moment my heating and hot water are off at the timer been off since 7 this morning.............should all the copper pipes coming in and out of the boiler still be boiling hot to the touch?

I appreciate that you are looking for answers but, at a distance, that is difficult. Pipes close to a boiler/HW cylinders can remain hot for a long time. If you are living in rented property, why don't you let your Landlord know that you think that there is a problem with the boiler controls and ask them to set out a heating engineer?

Bear in mind that your clock may be out by an hour due to BST.

    Edit

Thinking about it, the hour's error would be the other way.

I think the tank in the loft is a red herring. I would guess that its a cold water storage tank and not your hot water cylinder.

Where is the thermostat you refer to and are you sure the heating came on when it clicked over? If it came on outside of the timed hours then it sounds like it is set to run continuously.

I think we are all guessing in the dark here. A few photos of the controls, pipes and thermostats would be a big help.

The room stat can click on to call for heat at any time as the temperature drops below the setting but the boiler should only operate according to the day/time settings that have been programmed.

Did your boiler actually operate or did the stat simply click?

You have not mentioned your programer make/model. The one in the Fusion instalation manual is this one

    http://www.sunvic.co.uk/support/legacy-products/select-207-xls-user-installation-instructions/

but you could have a simillar, compatible one from another manufacturer.

Are you sure that your programmer is set correctly for both heating and hot water?
