Hi all
Thinking of you today CY.
Been a bit awol this week, mainly due to lots of work and ferrying the kids about. Its been a big week for DS1 who has got himself a job!!! This is amazing news, I cant quite believe it and hardly dare hope that this is going to work out. After several years of suffering with quite extreme anxiety, hardly leaving the house and unable to speak to anyone he didnt know well to now going out and getting himself a job it is just amazing. I am so proud, and he has done this through his own determination, not from help from anyone else.
OK so its early days, he has only done one shift! But I am keeping everything crossed for him. He has negotiated sensible hours too that gives him a chance to rest and not overdo it.
Hope everyone has a good Friday, we are going away for the weekend but hopefully back into a normal routine next week.0 -

Hugs good wishes posi vibes sticks and spoons for all who need them.
Wm has just finished so plan to get that out first then I'll play catch up on the bits I've missed and should hopefully have the lists all complete by lunchtime. Then I'll either do mils cleaning or a bit of crafting. Could also do with baking as I hinted to dd2 I'd take some food over to the party tomorrow. Must ring her and wish DGS happy birthday can't believe he's been here a year!
Dd1 has volunteered herself as face painter tomorrow so that will be fun.SPC~12 ot 124

Congratulations to your DS, Yorkshirelass. :T:j:T Last night we watched "Employable Me" and commented on how hard it is for people who are differently abled to find their niche, but I truly believe that there is a job for everyone. All the very best to him!mrs-moneypenny wrote: »Could also do with baking as I hinted to dd2 I'd take some food over to the party tomorrow. Glad to hear that Little Miss Frizzle is settling into some sort of routine.
Enjoy your new visitors, LW.
Thank you Valli for the lists this week. I haven't managed a great deal of flying, but my migraine has gone at last, I've sorted papers and my finances, got on with some studying (I've found a way of making notes which is rather slow, but the content is sticking in my brain a lot better), and we had a very successful day yesterday.
First I had an appointment with an orthopaedic surgeon who is going to straighten out my left bunion in June and the right one later
Then I went for a test drive of a small car, mainly for me: it's something we have been considering for a while, so that I can get to my DGC, courses, meetings and voluntary work whenever I need to, and DH can get to his clubs and go and be an assistant station master on the heritage railway, as well as continuing as a TTI, whenever he wants. The perfect car was waiting for me - 2 years old but looks and drives like new, at an extremely good price, highly recommended by the mechanics (DH had bought them loads of biscuits after they sorted out the leakage problem with our present car, so they were happy to give inside information) and it is even an automatic, as strongly recommended by my surgeon - so I decluttered £££ for the deposit and look forward to picking it up next week after it's had parking sensors and mud flaps added.
Note to self: remember to buy more biscuits before I go to collect it
Today's plan:
- Shower, S&S bathroom
- Breakfast (DH is just making it - we overslept), S&S kitchen
- 2 phonecalls
- 3 emails
- More studying
- Lunch
- Out with DH to take friend with broken foot to the park by car while I walk with her 2 DDs and their bikes. Nice cafe there
- A bit more studying
- DH is playing war games all evening, while I have an hour's choir practice
Catch up later. (((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed x0 -

Can't keep up with Fred at all at the moment, but missing you all and wanted to drop in to say:
I hope today goes smoothly and well, CY. I'll be thinking of you;
Loving the lists, Valli;
Congrats on the new car, Ionafan;
*Pharmacist be cool vibes* for LW's pharmacy;
and to clean our heated towel rail, Dancemum, I dust them and then use a tiny amount of fla$h type liquid on a microfibre cloth, rung by rung. It shouldn't be rusty after two years, so I'd email the manufacturers or suppliers and see what they say.
Sorry to everyone I've missed.
I need the dining room and kitchen to be sparkly by next Friday for a big party, and we're off to France for 24 hours on Monday with a new dog sitter staying in our bedroom (plus ensuite) so that's got to be immaculate too. Running to catch up with myself ....Better is good enough.0 -
Morning all
CY - glad the pre-op went well. Hoping everything goes smoothly today, and hopefully you'll already be in recovery by the time I'm writing this!
Valli - Thanks for reminding me I promised to do DD's hair for her last summer and I've still not got round to it! I also need to trim her fringe as its just in her eyes.
YL - :j:T:j < for DS1 getting a job :T
Iona - Yay on the new car :j
Hope everyone is doing okay. Hugs, sticks, spoons and vibes for everyone.
Yesterday I spent the whole day playing catch up with myself. I ended up running late for work in the morning, came home to eat & sort out the books I'd collected only for Zack to be sick and get covered in it so I had to bath him. Went back out to work (running nearly 4 hours later than normal), came home made/ate tea, and then had to go back out to work running 90 minutes late. Then with one thing and another I ended up not getting to bed until gone midnight.
Woke up this morning after a nice lie-in to find both my phone and my fitbit need charging, I need a shower, my clean jeans are in the wash (currently being done now) as I only have 2 pairs I can wear atm without tripping up or freezing in my crop ones and DD isn't up yet. I've left her sleeping as she's got an English exam paper to do today and she's been struggling to concentrate. She wants to go and see a friend on Monday for their birthday so she needs to do it today as over the weekend we have plans. I really need to go to the shops, including Mr A, but it's looking like I won't be getting there much before 2pm at this rate.:o
