I said I would help someone who was drunk to be safe and nowhere was someone having a fit purely through drink mentioned, not least as how would I or anyone else be able to tell the cause.

Why you had drink problems is none of my business and I'm glad you got the help you needed.
I have before now helped someone having a fit, unconscious for an unknown reason and even a cardiac arrest as well as assault victims. So yes I do try to be compassionate. Being compassionate is not just accepting things happen.

By the way, its Torry, not Tory:p

I'm am not going to justify myself or explain how I now feel to somdone who feels the need to undermine me.

I'm sure your g*d will forgive me for the typo TORRY ;)

I don't see how on earth you can say I was undermining you. I questioned why you, a bible bashing Christian, could come out with such statements

Seriously I'm not attacking your faith, that's yours alone. What I was gobsmacked at was your line in the sand. That's what I really couldn't stomach

Well usually you find its the religious folks who are the most judgemental of all but didn't want to bring religion into anything as that causes more outrage than strippers and tampons so. Night all! :rotfl:

Not me...but then I keep quiet most of the time about my faith. Plus I discovered that being judgemental has a way of turning around and biting you on the bum! :(
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Helping someone in those:eek: ways when someone is ill is acceptable, and I'm sure for most people it goes without saying that they'd help wherever they could. I have to be honest, I'd find it hard because my retch level is seriously low. _pale_ But, I'd do it.

If someone is capeable of getting that drunk that they either lose control of their bowels and or can't wipe their own backside then they'll be left to their own devices I'm afraid. Thankfully it's something I've never had to encounter.

HTF did we get to this from communal eating and splitting the bill ??

OMG I can't believe I'm even reading this?!

Ok, I've been in some incredibly messy states due to drinking far too much and especially whilst on various MH medications etc but never once have I ever lost control to the extent I messed myself, either pee or poo, or have vomited in inappropriate places. Disgusting!!!

While I would never say that as its not for me to say whether you are or not. :p

My comment was made ironically but I just don't think it's a good idea to bring religion into disrepute like that.

Anyway, I'm off to bed now.
  • Pops up to say hopefully "Don't suppose there's any chance of this thread getting back on topic - ie paying for meals out - is there?"

I'm having a much-needed cup of bedtime cocoa here - to try and reward myself for having resisted a (very strong) temptation to tell someone who richly deserved it what I thought of them tonight ITRW (at the moment.....).

Nice cup of cocoa - organic proper cocoa powder/organic milk/"real" maple syrup....

Ah, now we're back to chocolate!

My favourite, although hideously expensive, is Whittard's vanilla caramel flaked. I got a tub when they had an offer on a few months ago and I'm making it last as long as possible. I think I've only had it three times!

Absolute heaven in a mug, especially when used as an accompaniment to a good book.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

I don't want to quote the post incase you decide to delete it, but woah Suki....too far. :(

Right, did someone mention chocolate?! I wanted to try that Whittards hot chocolate, and was disappointed that they'd closed the nearest shop to me down. Will have to get some online I think!

So you see no difference between helping someone taken ill and someone who deliberately paints their nails so they are unable to insert a tampon themselves and have to ask a "friend" to do it (although it does sound more like a skanky prank to see just how far she can get a "friend" to go rather than any genuine inability to do it herself)

I would like also to say that just two weeks ago, a customer had too much too drink and on top of that had an epileptic fit

Not my bar, not my concern

Yet she was a female in a mess and needed help. So even though I was in socializing in different company I didn't hesitate in going in the ladies, forcing the door, getting her in recovery and cleaning her up so she wasn't embarrass when the paramedics arrived

    A stranger to me really

I'm not looking a gold star, I'm just saying that sometimes you can and do go above and beyond what you really think is skanky to help some one in distress

If that makes me weird, then that's ok, I'll live with your judgement

    No I won't be deleting

And I won't be holding grudges into other threads as is often the case on here. I've had my say, done and dusted, I'm moving onwards

Oh and can I say I hate hot chocolate? :)

For me I like to finish a "posh" meal with a very good coffee and a single bitter chocolate.

    Oh, and a smoke :)
