I hadnt had my first cup of coffee for the day and woken brain up fully yet. Then I realised who s/he was talking to - and hence my post was already deleted at the time you made this post.:)

    What about ice cream?

Just putting it out there - I don't have puddings anyway (but I have sat through many a meal as my family work their way through various offerings). :D

    Brain freeze! :rotfl:
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Because I don't have a sweet tooth at all.
A 100gm bar of chocolate (good quality, high cocoa content) will last me a month. A packet of biscuits can sit unopened in the cupboard until it goes out if date.
I'm definitely the odd one out in our family.

Had that once in US with a Dole Whip, pineapple and whippy ice cream, well the pineapple made it healthy :D

My daughter took one look at my face and laughed!
Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama ;)

Because it inevitably doesn't add up.

How do you deal with the shortfall, eh? Grill everyone individually on what they had and how much they put in? Awkward.

In that situation, someone who's already paid their fair share generally throws in extra cash just to sort the bill.

That person is always me. I had to leave a meal early last month due to train times and handed the person next to me (who I know and trust) fifty quid as contribution for my £27 meal, because I know that for that event, each year some people put in exactly the price of their food on the menu (no tip), some fail on adding up and underestimate the amount of wine they've drunk, due to the amount of wine they've drunk ;) and it always comes up short when they bill comes round.

So it generally ends up with me and the person I gave my contribution to before leaving last time covering the shortfall to make the problem go away.

Generally I avoid dining in large groups for this reason, I can't be doing with the bill at the end.
