I'm glad you're not a chef in any restaurant I frequent (particularly with the first suggestion) or in fact somebody whose home I might have to eat! (Who on earth freezes bananas anyway?)
Noooo - cake in a cup is gorgeous. Try it - served with a nice vanilla ice cream and some raspberries.

Highly calorific though, far in excess of the 500 quoted here as being high... a distant memory for me now.
I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

I have been to an 'all-you-can-eat' Asian restaurant and seen people pile their plates high and then leave half of it.

    That's about it.
I never understand why people do that - if you put a small amount on a plate at a time and then return for more, the food you eat is actually hot.
    Me neither.

I take my li'l sis and my niece to one of these places - and fine dining it definitely isn't :D - but it's part of our girly shopping day out and it's fascinating to watch what people choose.

"OK, I'll have some noodles. Oooh, that pizza looks nice, I'll have a slice of that. Chicken madras? Yes please. I'll just pop a couple of spring rolls on top. And there's room for a bit of crispy seaweed. Hey! They do dinners too. Slice of roast pork, balance a yorkshire pudding on top and finish with a ladle of gravy."

The silly part is that you can go back as many times as you like. :rotfl:

I take a small side plate and will maybe have Chinese starters, then go back for another small plate of Indian or maybe I'll have some pasta.
It's sad to see so much food being wasted.

Anyone who wants a currently very fashionable type of icecream - made with frozen banana as it's base. It's part of the clean eating fashion (ie genuinely healthy eating) that has been fashionable for about the last 5 years.

    It's nice actually:)

But then my top two priorities for food tend to be:
    - genuinely healthy
    - interesting (translation - probably fashionable then).

I'm surprised that you feel the need to comment about my alleged nastiness, but not PN calling others thieves, greedy oiks, greasy oiks, all-manner of oiks in fact, and more personal insults that I can be bothered to list. In fact, you've liked several of these posts.

    How strange.

Possibly because over time we have got to to know PN and also understand the ASD influence and their defensive mechanisms- whereas you are just plain nasty.

I've frozen bananas for years.....well decades (not the same ones obviously). How funny that it's now fashionable or trendy.

I try to avoid these places now - it depresses me too much to see how much food gets thrown away. The last time I went to one a boy if about 10 was putting his leftover veg into his leftover glass of coke.
Never again will the wolf get so close to my door

My sister and niece love going there.

    http://redhotworldbuffet.com/

It's always busy (Saturday lunch times) and noisy.

I like it for trying different things.
    They do pasta and risotto.
And they have a Mongolian grill where you can choose your own ingredients and have it cooked for you.

And for those who are interested, I pay the bill (all of it) and the tip. :D

My pet hate is when some bright spark decides to split the bill evenly - invariably this will be suggested by someone who has had starter, main AND dessert plus plenty of drink!

Yep I agree. We went out for a meal with my OH's family and his SIL's family a while back. Usually when we go out with just the immediate family, we work out who had what and each pay for what we ordered, so I thought this would be the case on this occasion too. I didn't eat a lot, only had a main and a soft drink as I was driving, my OH also only had a main and 1 beer as he had been dieting. My OH's SIL and her mum and sister were ordering cocktails and bottles of wine. The bill came and instead of doing what we usually do, OH's sister in law piped up that we would be splitting the bill and each couple were due to pay £100! I objected because I knew that what my OH, my daughters and I had eaten came to £45 altogether, I told them this but everybody else stayed quiet and just put their £100 in. I wasn't happy about this at all but what p*ssed me off even more was a few days later when we were at my OH's parents house and they started moaning that they had paid £100 for the meal when they'd only had a bowl of pasta and a soft drink, then proceeded to say how they weren't happy subsidising other people's alcohol consumption. Of course I piped up and said that they should have said something on the night when I objected if they weren't happy about it. As they didn't, they have set the way for it to happen again now, although I've made it clear to my OH that if we go out with them again I will be ordering our food on a separate tab :rotfl:
